OK so write up......

I was in a highseat waiting for a deer to show up, and it was about 08:00 id seen a couple of CWD but nothing else and was beginning to think of calling it a day.

I saw this red/brown streak come traveling over the field to my right at a high rate of knots, however it stopped of the field margin about 160 yards away.

I let it slink closer to me (no point making work if you don't have to!!!) untill at about 125 yards it stopped and turned its head to listen to something then turned its body offering a broadside shot.

I took the shot as i feared he may be about to ****** off, and after the shot he stood there for a couple of seconds before running off over the field.

Well by this point i was swearing because i thought id missed the shot and the accuracy issues with the 6.5 id been having were still around.

Then after about 20 yards of running a cartwheel/handstand/backflip he lay still.

On further investigation i had completly destroyed his heart.

Nice shot. I've had mixed experiences with the 6.5 on Fox - I found that a lot of the Deer bullets went through without causing as much damage as you'd expect. Perhaps because they've not really opened up properly in such a small animal? Anyway, like you I found that they fell over once they'd realised that they didn't have such good blood pressure as normal!

The 6.5 is a nice round. If I could only have one gun I think it would be a Swede - It's the best calibre I've ever had and I've had a few! :good:

The exit wound wasn't big, i could get my index finger in up to the knuckle. (it sounds wrong but that is about the size).

Dead is dead, although if i was really concerned id handload some ballistic tips and then let rip :D I don't intend on using specifically for foxing, only safe opportunistic shots.
