the enigma
My FAC Rapid came with an out of test 3L 300 bar cylinder as part of the deal. I'm going to need a larger cylinder, and could do with a bit of advice. Which is better 12L 300bar or 15L 232 bar? Cheers David
tweedledee
Not sure too many folk like to fill to 300 over here.best with the 300 i suppose but check what your local man can fill to
BerettaSV10
Agree the 12 ltr 300 bar would be better as long as you can get it filled to that pressure. A lot off dive shops will have their sytems set to blow off at 232 bar, to blow off at 300 bar it puts a lot of strain on the compressors so the cost of servicing the compressor and the small ecxtra charge that diver pays for this fill pressure is not worth the the hassel or time. secretagentmole
You can always get a 300 bar, even if you only fill it to 232 bar, then if someone opens a 300 bar charging outfit, you have the bottle to cope!
PWD
I asked about this at my dive shop...forgive me it was a whiles ago , but it seems to work out about the same air wise, (something in the way its calculated)... but you may pay more for the cylinder set up with 300 and around here its £3.50 for a 232 fill but £5 for a 300 .That said if money doesn't matter to much then what secretagentmole said makes some sense. Ratsmasher
the 12l 300 bar gives you the equivolant of 3600 litres of air and the 15l 232 gives you about 3400 but dont forget that not all of that will be at high enough pressure to charge your rifle atb ratty
the enigma
Thanks for the replies fellas................ From what you've all said,it sounds like the guy that was trying to sell me the 232bar bottle was talking to suit himself. My local gunshop charges to 300bar no problem, so it looks like that's the way to go.
paul87
Some cheap dive bottles on Gumtree Lads 7ltr for £20 and 15ltr for £30 out of test mind but cheap from what I've seen before. Plenty about too.
Dekers
My FAC Rapid came with an out of test 3L 300 bar cylinder as part of the deal. Which is better 12L 300bar or 15L 232 bar? Cheers David My understanding is that FAC regulated Rapids needed 232Bar (someone will no doubt be able to check that) , if that is correct the 232 Bar bottle will not last you long, 300 all the way! paul87
No bother, seen some in the Ards and Holywood area. How much is it to test a dive bottle? What air rifle do you shoot? i was thinking of a pcp but don't know if I could be bothered with the hassle of filling up when shooting targets for long periods. Springers are just too handy for plinking.

I've just picked up a .22 Rapid Mk1 last Tuesday. I haven't really had a chance to test it out properly yet,but from the wee bit of plinking I've done,it seems to be pretty accurate.
