chrisjpainter
So I'm thinking of changing my scope, and I'd appreciate your thoughts/suggestions on anything out there. The MTC Mamba seems pretty popular, so thoughts on that would be good; is there anything else out there that people would make recommend? Mamba vs Mamba lite debate would also be good. Is it worth going for the bigger brother or has the lite got all that's worth having? Thanks people, Chris
durbsguy
I've been looking at the Mamba 3-12x44 but may go for the 4-16x50 which would allow me to use 7 mag as opposed to 6. I am going with the big brother as it has the illuminated reticle and not the viper as it's too heavy.
secretagentmole
I like the Hawke SR or MAP reticles. Those and Chairgun = some very accurate shooting!
Beretta28g
German glass is good, but expensive whats your budget. Cheap end would be Bushnell, this would be a good start
Dekers
I always say it, but, it is FAR too personal to call. There are hundreds, and probably thousands of scopes out there, that offer any and everything you could ask. I would be hard pressed to find 2 scopes the same at my rifle club, yet everyone seems to put them on the target. And I see a multitude of different scopes in the field. As long as you can see your intended pellet/bullet delivery point and it holds zero, that's all that matters! bullet boy
I will always recommend Bushnell and Simmons range of scopes for an air-rifle as these are good value for money! Another nice scope is the Falcon Menace.I've got a 10x42 Menace on my AAS410 and it's a lovely!Nice clear optic at affordable prices! ATB. Cheap end would be Bushnell, this would be a good start You can buy Seben direct from the factory for not much: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Seben-Black-Anaconda-4-12x56-Illuminated-Rifle-Scope-/330494981842?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item4cf30936d2 I have seen older, lower spec Seben advertised for more secondhand. Although they are supposed to be made in Germany they have had some really bad reviews so be careful.
bullet boy
You won't go wrong with a nice Bushnell Elite or Simmons WTC scope dependant on budget of course.
TomSteebs
i have never owned a scope for more than 6 months, i am constantly finding the scope annoying or hard to get on with. (same with rifles, 5 in 3-4 years) the only two scopes i have liked is the nikko stirling mountmaster 4-12x50 ao (£55) & the mtc viper 10x44 IR (£154). atb tom
andrewjames
I would also recommend the Simmons WTC series scopes, even more so the expedition series which are supposedly the cream of the crop when comparing the simmons range together... i have the simmons 4-12x42 WA AO with the truplex ret - pics here theres also a link to its review in one of the image subheadings the field of view is incredible and i picked up for around 80 quid posted. andy
