digger
can anyone recommend a decent insurance firm ? ive just been quoted £645 to insure a focus tdci estate, thats £100 more than im paying for my current 2 lt sports focus ! i tried elephant.co and they were pants.what im after is a decent site rather than re typing all my info. i use it as a company car doing an anticipated 10000 miles a year. im getting rid of the current focus as it averages 30mpg which is a shame as i love it thanks in advance

kdubya
I will second confused .com. AS although I now have a series 5 BMW (£304) fully comp, and with 6 points on my license? my previous CAR as opposed to my truck, was a vauxhall omega 3 litre elite! and for some reason the renewal jumped from around the £300 mark to nearly £900!! went on confused . com got a quote from think it was lifesure for £280 took it up, thinking ok cheap and cheerfull but what about the service? well the inevitable happened, farmers wife came out drove out of a hedge opening straight into my path ( I am in cornwall miles from home) bang front end of car wiped, phoned lifesure and they arranged everything ie car pick up , provision of a curtousy car etc and the prompt return of a nicely repaired omega. I have since taken the cheapest quotes every year, this year churchill came out cheapestl? cheers KW
flytie
I'm with the lads above, confused.com. It was recommended on the Money Programme on Radio 4. I have not tried them yet but will the next time my renewal comes up. Ft
wickedandlazee
Try priveleged if you got a good no claims bonus
Pedro
I find getting on the phone and letting them do all the hard work pays off. I ring round every year and always get a reduction. Staying with the same company year in/year out just wastes money. Get the Yellow pages out and scrawl each companies prices next to their add. Never tell them how much you've already been quoted either, spookily, if you do , they're quote is always much closer to the one you've already had. Hastings have been fairly cheap for me in the past  P.

Bipolar
Confused got me a quote for my Rover 75 Tourer down to £390 from the £1600 my original insurer (Liverpool and Victoria) quoted my renewal, I only paid £500 the year before , I did claim for my Tom Tom being stolen (only could claim £200 max ) I have no points I rang them up and they just said thats the quote and could not give me a satisfactory answer! NickHead
I went with TSB bank for my insurance, did me a well good deal. I like local insurance places because I like to deal with them eye to eye, yes, it does cost a slight bit more, but you can always chat to them and put your point over.. pin
Privilege were best for me, brand new A4 2.0 S-line TDI £345 (bloody good price for insurance in London). Only of use with 4 or more years NCB. If you have none try bell.co.uk. If any of you have seen the low rent advert with the bloke in the orange shirt, thats my mate Simon. Actor, lol Another tactic is play brokers off against each other, or look for deals where you get a discount for having home / contents with the same people (Norwich Union etc).
