welshwarrior
Depends what you call budget if that means dirty cheap they are beside the budget 28 bores and hens teeth. If you mean £300-£500 there are a few about as mentioned above but also look at FAIS mine has done very well and sold 20 bore to me now looking for a 687 20 bore. casts_by_fly
washerboy, I've been on the same hunt for a budget is 20. I'd say yes it is worth looking at used guns. I don't particularly care for investarms just because they seem cheap to me. Maybe not cheaply made, but just not as nice as a 'normal' O/U. Flicking through guntrader for the past 6 months or so has shown me that for less than £500 you can find a decent O/U. I saw a BSA at Euroguns about a month ago that was in that range and pristine (20 ga). You'll find Browning medalists in a 20 for that range fairly often. Lincoln's come up in that range as well. I'd look for a clean, tight used gun that is a couple years old but still in great shape. Thanks Rick

welshwarrior
My FIAS cost £400 it's a Multi choke ejector and works really well it's the same gun as the Browning Medalist and McNab lowlander there is a fixed choke on GT for £350. A SH gun will give a better made gun that should still last years it would be my choice now.
WelshLamb
I paid £500 for my lincoln, beautiful little gun, gorgeous wood, MC, single trigger and ejectors
Wharf Rat
I paid £500 for my lincoln, beautiful little gun, gorgeous wood, MC, single trigger and ejectors Sounds good. Mind if I ask what you use it for/on? I know some people who swear by 20g for pigeon work in a hide due to the speed, but apart from that, is it the lower weight or what that makes them atractive?
