I support Leeds United - await flak.

I am no fan of Manchester United, but Alex Ferguson is the best manager in the history of English football. They got a footballing lesson last night and were well beaten. The score could have been far more.

That said, I would not write them off. Ferguson is the master of doing the impossible. For the sake of English football, I hope United can overturn this, but suspect they won't.

It won't suddenly make him "past it". They are second in the Premiership - a position almost anyone would swap.

It really is amazing how sensitive people are about this isn't it?

;)

Yeah...just a wind up initially to lessen the dullness of a dreary Friday afternoon... funny how it brings the Manc fans out of their prams from all over the country except manchester.

For my part I go to Upton park and away matches on average 15 times a year, Swindon and BC regularly..my daughters lad plays for Scunny (the Northern Irons  ) and I even went and watched them last week

Ferguson has had his day IMO and should step aside for someone younger and not have to suffer the embaressment of being made a director of football...the biggest problem is the club is run by incontinent old farts from here and America and they are just too god darn **** scared of him.... dagnamit

And just to disagree with one of the posters earlier la league and seria A are streets ahead of the premiership..period

So you say pal

I have been to Old Trafford plenty of times. 4/5 times a Year (I did not have a choice in club and have family in the area, not that it matters a jot, growing up when Liverpool won everything, remember Uniteds stint in the 2nd division.

Just look at the original poster, a West ham fan from Glos? a Liverpool fan (sorry BB) from Wales, so Your point is what? the fact is we have more fans around the country than other clubs, great stuff, more money, more players = a fair share of titles :good:

We have the best Manager in the country, make no mistake :good:

No problem Marky.

At the end of the day we can follow and support any team we want whatever part of the country we are and in whatever country we want!I'm an All Black fanatic as you know living in Wales.

As I said previously as in Football terms I'm not interested in the Mancs only my beloved Liverpool-the 5 times European Champions!!

stupidest comment ive ever heard"everyone should support their localclub" if everyone did, football would be total rubbish game to watch, whats next, players must be from there to play for them?? as for watching them,i used to go every home game and about 6/7 away games ,csemi and cup finals, charity sheild, carling cup games etc every year for a good few years,4 hours coach trip each way, sometimes twice a week, till i got married and bought a house, now i go shooting and fishing when im allowed  :yp:

It was a source of amusement whenever Man Utd played at Selhurst either against Palarse or Wimbledon that it was always a sell out. Meant the Man U fans could see a game from somewhere other than their armchair.

Notice no one mentions the droves of numpties wearing Chelski tops declaring support for eons. The chants of "where you when you were ++++ " certainly hit home. The premier league is probably the most over hyped in Europe, Messi will never grace it.

Not sour grapes on my part, wouldnt bother me if my team never played against nancy boys whose teams have followers rather than fans. Wearing the shirt and having sky sports is not the be all and end all

As a city season ticket holder I hope taggart stays as manager for many more years. He's bought a lot of **** in last few years, biggest waste being berbaflop for £32m. Because of the debt brought on by the glazers they can't compete in the transfer Market and not qualifying for the champs league amongst such a weak group was laughable.

Unfortunately I know a few united fans (strange I know as im in Manchester) and they all want fergie to go in the hope of the special one replacing him.

Some of his team selections this year have been puzzling, combined with the lack of quality compared to other years doesn't bode well for the future, unless your a city fan.

Berbatov should be starting every week...hes up there in the top 10 strikers in the world in my opinion..obviously something hes done or said has upset old rednose and his massive ego wont allow him to give Berbs a regular starting place... he should have been in the starting line up against Bilbao. His career strike rate is 44.8 % thats actually 1.3 % better than Shrek!

All said and done Bilbao were playing not just at a different level than united but on a different planet. SAF will have to pick an attacking team and go all out for the winin the away leg,as they should have done at home not just in this competition but also in the Champions league earlier in the year.I can see them getting another lesson in how to play football though.

Some of his selections and tactics have been puzzling to say the least.

Isn't it funny how city have been top since before Xmas, united go ONE point infront and they all come out of the woodwork again. You have the easier run in on paper but still have to come to our place. As long as the ref is fair(company red card @ 10 mins) this time it will be 6-1 again.that must still be hurting you all. *****

Codling are you serious, your slagging city for losing 1-0 away in europe when you got stuffed at home 3-2, slight double standards maybe?

And as for the comment of only decent buys are aguero and silva, Think about how many united players would get in the city team. Not many at all. Yaya has been one of the best players this season, let's not forget the best defender in kompany. And once aguero has settled he will be top scorer next season with van Persie when he sign's.

It's good to know the united fans are still about. As soon as that huge one point lead has appeared here they are again feeling confident. Has the tail just come out from between your legs.

Anyway let's hope for a classic title run-in and for united to keep that one point lead otherwise we won't see you again will we.

hahahahah ,1 point lead, lol,we ve won title more times than city fans have had cooked dinners, you still got arsenal and chelsea to loose to yet,so it ll be more than one point by end of may. as for europe, didnt say nothing bout city loosing away by 1-0,just that united and city dont really care for europa cup and are both concentrating on leaugue.cant see persie signinig for city either, pipe dream that, money cant buy city a title, your players fight amongst them selves to much for team to gel.as for city beating us 6-1 again lol, cant see that happening either, may be a close game but ill be betting on united to turn you over.and it did hurt ,for about half hour, then i realised the leaugue aint about one game. :good:

Codling you do make me chuckle, as for van Persie not signing for us, he's 28 so it's his last big contract and he's got no chance of winning anything at arsenal as they won't spend any money, also they have been our feeder club for The last few years.

We have to play Chelsea at home, honestly can't see that being a tough game given our impeccable home form and Chelsea being in the middle of a crisis and arsenal away, still a winnable game given their form this year. It should be the tightest title run-in, in recent years.

And you say our players are fighting with each other, that shows passion( and the fact that the fights always involve the walking time bomb that is super Mario).

Apparently united will be announcing a new sponsorship deal soon linked with giggs and scholes- it's with SAGA   :lol::P:lol:

Just to illustrate my point old red nose has issued the following statement... announcing Berbatov is to leave United.

However, the Red Devils hierarchy know they would get nothing like the mammoth sum they paid for the striker, whom Ferguson had such high hopes for when he arrived but has never quite managed to fulfil them, despite ending last season as the joint Golden Boot winner.

"We will be taking up the option on his contract but, having had chats with him, I understand he wants to get first-team football," said Ferguson.

"It is something we need to consider at the end of the season. For a player of his age and his ability it is disappointing for him that he is not getting first-team football.

"We will look at the end of the season but until then, he remains at United."

Ferguson confirmed Berbatov is again set to miss out tomorrow as United look to overturn a 3-2 deficit from last week's home encounter.

"He could play tomorrow but I have good options in terms of front players with Javier Hernandez, Danny Welbeck and Wayne Rooney," said Ferguson.

Now the way I see it berby must have caught Old Rednose in the shower with Bobby Charlton or something...how can he leave a player like him on the sidelines when he won the Golden Bott and has a better scoring average than Rooney in all competitions.

I hope he stays in the Premiership...If I were City I would snap him up and give him a two year Contract.

Very strange...could it be alzheimers or the bottle.?
