Pigeons on the drills

Down in the south, we don't have as many pigeons on the drills as you lucky ******* oop north  But we thought we would give it a go

My son, Ben and I set out at 7am. Hide done, decoys out and loaded up by 8am :good: Then as forecast, the rain started :sly: Still, we knew it was going to happen., so out came the fishing brolly. Interestingly, the birds didn't seem to be bothered by it, despite its shiny appearance. I had pondered spending blokey/decoyer time in the shed putting some camo material on it, but I'm not sure it would have made any difference

Anyway, the birds came in all beit slowly. The flapper went out, then came in. The whirly went out, then came in. Hypers on/off, dead birds on/off. Ben shot l;ike a demon, I shot like a plonker (Rodders) He managed a 12 kill streak (call of duty terminology) but I did redeem myself with the highest 2 birds of the day :yahoo:

We made a full day of it, and whilst it was a modest bag, it was great to be out for the whole day. We packed up at 5pm with 31 pigeons, 3 crows and a jacky. ( one pigeon declined to be in the photo through shyness issues, and waited near the truck for us :)
