30-6
Anybody seen a folding bill-hook (like the folding saws you can get) for cutting back nettles etc when hide building. Looking for something to carry saftely, doesn't need to be big in size.

henry d
I got a small hand scythe at a boot sale for £1 and use it for burrows in September
30-6
Thanks topgunner, but I got one of those, what I'm after is like that but in a scythe. Like Henry D says look in a boot sale, if I can't find anything I'll make something up with wingnut fittings so I can dismantle it for easy carrying. Cranfield
I have a Gerber folding pruning saw, which comes with three different blades (varying teeth sizes). After fitting the smallest tooth blade, I use it as a bill hook for nettles, brambles, twigs, reeds, etc., when out fishing, or shooting. It also has the ability to saw through any small branches you come across. I looked for a folding billhook for ages and never found one. Baldrick
http://www.consorziocoltellinai.it/pdf/garden03.pdf Third and final page, at the bottom left. I have one of those billhooks that I got given 10+ year's ago. I'm not sure where you can buy one now, but it's worth digging around for. Dougy
Have a look at fishing tackle weed cutters not sure about the size of them but they are folding and you put them on your bank stick which can be up to 7ft long, well out of reach of the nasty critters.
