That's a Gen.1 it has the round button on the side to operate the load gate.

My Gen.1 and Gen.2 will not feed 2 x Hull Comp-X 65mm from the mag, has to be 1 chambered + 1 in mag. Eley Firsts which are also 65mm work with 2 in the mag in both guns, the Comp-X measure just under 53mm and the Eleys about 55mm

  • 2 weeks later...

I purchased a brand new left handed hatsan escort from countryman of derby in December last year.

People slate these all the time, I have a variety of guns from a Browning high end to hushpower. To be honest the hatsan has been as good as all of my others; its nice and light and is great for rough shooting. It hasnt missed a beat and is also easy to clean.

I was advised that historically it was better to use longer carts and plastic wad over fibre wad as they are generally more reliable.

However I purchased a variety of carts at the time to try and it has cycled everything. I have used 65mm carts from 28gm upwards with no problems. I just keep it clean as everybody advises.

I have yet to try my wifes 21gm carts in it, might try them next week and see how I get on.

I bought a brand new left handed one last month. Have had no problems with it. I had a slab of 28g that needed using and they cycled fine, even two and a half inch cycles fine even though the RDF told me they wouldn't (he has the older version)

I have also used 66g BBs, and 42g steel shot with no problems.

I did have a jam on my first outing with it, but that was my fault for putting the 'O' ring in the wrong place.

Go for it son :good:
