Surprisingly quiet for the size of silencer.I now reload myself but found Lyavale 2.5 14gm best combination of noise/hitting power.Fiocchi 3" were better for reach but noisier,I didn't rate the 3" subs as effective. Two points may be of issue:extra length can be cumbersome & sight picture with silencer means I have to consciously aim high.

I had a hush power moderator custom made for my folding poacher fourten . Basically it ruined the gun, I couldn't get on with it at all. In fact, with such a lightweight shotgun the balance was spoiled to such an extent that I couldn't hit anything with it. Sound reduction was disappointingly slight. Definitely not recommended I.M.O. I still have the moderator , gathering dust. My advise would be, save your money.

Can only vouch for full length Hushpower Moderators but they are really quiet . Nothing is silent of course but they are nothing like normal shotgun noise especially with the right ammo . I too found them like an air rifle with Eley Fourlongs . Depends on the job in hand .

What did you intend to use this gun for?. Even with 3 inch carts your range will be limited to about 20 yards.

Not sure I agree a 19gm 3" load kills well to 30 yrds plus after all plenty of 28 bore loads are lighter I think? Anyway they are fine for close decoying but forget the long shots that you might pick up with a 12 out at 40yrds

I have a mossberg stealth 410 and find it does make a lot more noise than an unmoderated airgun but is great fun to shoot and no ear plugs are needed and has put down many bunnys within 25 yds,i tend to use 2 1/2 inch and subsonic were noise is a problem and 3 inch magnums out in the open field, the 3 inch cartridges are audible at 400 yds plus but sound more like a rifle than shotgun.

My Baikal was very quiet with 21/2" you don't get to appreciate how quiet they are when your shooting but if you get a mate to shoot whilst you stand 30-40 yards away and you'll notice the difference. Mossberg mods are shorter than the Baikal so a little louder, pedretti's are a fully modded barrel so better still.

I would assume noise wise the bretton gaucher would be on par with the pedretti but the bretton is a cylinder choke so really limited to close range stuff.

All of them are far more quiet than a standard .410 but you won't appreciate it till your stood away from it as it goes off, I can't see the 9" been anywhere near as good as the full mods but every little helps I guess.

Only tried the hushpower so I can't comment on the others but I've been out today with eley 3 inch subs, fourlongs and 2 inch an none of them seem much quieter to me with the mod fitted. also, the fourlongs threw a better pattern than the 3 inch 18 grams at 15 yards. The 2 inch carts were useless at this range as far as pattern goes. I just can't see how you could get good results at 30 yards and beyond on live quarry with a fourten, and I've been shooting them for over 30 years

Is it one of them slip on ones or a full hushpower? I can't see the small after market ones been any use. Get a mate to shoot it while you stand 30yrds away and see if you notice any difference.

More effective than you might think, but still clumsy, overlong & difficult to aim.
