viking
they have to make a profit, there not going to buy it off you for £100 to end up making £20 on it, as already said, put it on gun watch, im sure it will do near to what your after for it, if you lose £50 in the 3 years you have had it your laughing. bedwards1966
It may be very disappointing, even seem insulting, but they aren't worth that much really. If the shop sells it for £150 after paying you £20 it still only leaves £130 'profit', then take out the cost of the time/paperwork, taking up space on the rack, and then the danger of someone buying it and complaining it's faulty and either getting a refund or having the gun-shop spend money on repairing it. Not much profit left. Stick it on Gunwatch, it should sell OK, especially if you can send it by RFD.
Bloggs
I'm also led to believe that the shop has to pay VAT on the second hand sale too

Redgum
Its how it works I quess, it makes you wonder if its ever worth buying a new gun, usually putting it in the cabinet for the first time will add the first dink I inherited my old chaps Webly&scott boxlock ejector,it had a bit of a headache and asked my local gun shop if it was worth repairing, they reckoned it was worth between 1500 and 2000 so had work done. Once all in order asked if they would take it in agains a better fitting o/u and they offered me £500 for it. Oh well they did me a favour as I'm glad I never sold it and I really appreciate the true guns worth to me.

Vince Green
Most shops don't want to buy in stock at the moment, For every person they get walking through the door wanting to buy they get two wanting to sell something. Sign of the times.
Guest cookoff013
lets put this in context, many moons ago i tried to buy a gun long distance from someone just over the border (guntrader). the price for shipping was £75, then £100 for a "Gunsmith" to sign it in their books and a small fee for signing it over to me. :o so for the price of a £160 gun, would have cost £235. shame i had to pull out, gun was in nice cond. it just wasnt even worth the petrol money on top. crazy. poorpeet
Depends on the shop two of my local shops offered me £1100 for my Gold E this week. One against a new 725 and the other a new MK70. In both cases it was more than I expected. Ended up selling it privately but not for a lot more.
