how much to charge

If he is a friend who is insisting on paying something and he doesn't want hundreds of birds, I would charge him 20p for the two breasts.

Alternatively, tell him to buy your Wife/Girlfriend/Mother a nice box of chocolates.

Then give him as many as he wants.

Its awkward when people insist on giving you something.

I use to give an old lady rabbits and wouldn't take anything for them.

My Wife casually mentioned one day that I needed some new woollen fingerless gloves.

That was about 20 years ago and I still have quite a in the drawer, the old lady must have knitted me about 20 pairs. :good:

Money for cartridges is a great idea.

I'm reminded of a saying - gratitude costs nothing, but people will sometimes pay a lot to avoid showing it (or something like that) .... these days it's so rare to get something for nothing that we are losing the ability to graciously accept the generosity of others.

I used to get 1 cartridge per bird off our local dealer. I haven't shot pigeons for a while so I don't know the current rate.

50p sounds fair if you are dressing them.

I get ducks and geese plucked and drawn for £1 each, they come back oven ready on a little foam tray and cling filmed.

I don't mind doing it but that way he gets all the feathers to dispose of.

Cheers

Now thats an incentive to get your shot per kill ratio down to an "acceptable" level....
