hobgoblin
hello mate iwas thinking the same thing!i'm a newbie at this game&went out yesterday afternoon.it was so quiet&no wind....no pigeon either! so i popped a few decoyys out(only got shells)set up my net&waited&waited...nothing around so i got up(discs prob in my back cant sit for too long) & wandered around the farm.nothing! plenty of gold finch&starling but no pigeon <even though a few were on the farmhouse lawn!!> any way decided to go back to the hide&thats when about 20 birds flew from the trees&bushes!! woo hooo ,got settled down &after about 20 min half a dozen came in,i had a couple of shots& missed!!&that was it sat a while no pigeon, buzzard heron e.t.c was about 7ish so wandered by the hedge&saw 1 rabbit!! so maybe the heat was too much for them to bother ?? perhaps they 're feeding early?? dunno but it's an afternoon out(but bl**dy HOT) good luck with it!! Bleeh
I kinda did the same with the rabbits, I was let home early due to a power cut so I started walking around the fields. Got about 600 yards and realized I'd rather be inside, in the cool, drinking beer. Shooting when it's hot is no problem on good days, but bad days really makes it an extra sour experience. I have shot big bags on many occasions in 25 degree C + temps.

yickdaz
I don't think it's ever too hot to shoot pigeons. I have shot big bags on many occasions in 25 degree C + temps. agree, lost count of the bags we have made in 70 80 degree heat, just watch for the bags reported on here through summer and quite a few will be made in scorching weather thats if it continues that is
fenboy
I too have shot some very good bags when it has been roasting , in fact I once managed to get sunstroke while shooting them which was a most unpleasant experience and something I have always been careful to avoid since. activeviii
its the head aches you get from the sun beating down all day that gets me. had one or two birds in the heat of it but i soon pack up as its not fun. worse still trying to get a few hundred birds across fields to truck. hitnmiss
There was 200+ on my rape yesterday in the heat of the day, so I think no is the answer to your question, it doesn't seam to bother them!
