I have a couple of Mounties terrorising my garden at the moment. Wife wouldn't let me shot them even if I wanted to! Sorry for hijack

Are they looking for someone and have they a warrant to be in your garden? As they say,the Mountie always gets its man and you cant just go about shooting them, even though they are Canadian.

Sounds a good gig Alex. How many are you looking to thin oot?

you are going to have to excuse me bieng a bit thick but as a newbie what is a gold /silver/bronze on a muntjac and as for the price is it £80 + £250 ?

it simply means if you shoot a buck with a decent head on it that you pay £250 on top of the £80. Usually this will be advised by the guide before you shoot it so you make the call otherwise cull animals you get the one included with the cost of the stalk as described.

Hi all,

Thank you for all the PM's guys I hope I have covered all of them now and spoken to most on the phone!

al4x thank you for the you reply to nobbyathome!

Lads this is a new ground i have just picked up and have been very pleased with the results so far.

I am not looking to make a killing on this or turn anyone over! just the chance for people to stalk at a fair price and take some meat for the freezer!

I hold a key to a nice keepers & guns lodge that has Tea & Coffee for lunch and a cold beer at the end day for all the stores to be told in.

regards

Alex

I had a weekend up there with Alex a few weeks ago, and despite terrible weather we had a fantastic time and took seven muntjac between four of us.

This truly is an idyllic place to stalk, and the muntjac are plentiful.

I forget the name of the lady that runs the farmhouse, but she was extremely nice and couldn't do enough to help. Alex was an outstanding host, and I'll be booking another weekend as soon as I can (or as soon as the wife will let me anyway). At £80 this is an absolute bargain.

Many thanks Alex, hope to do it again soon! :good:

Hi All,

I hope I have now answered all the PM's ? if not please say! we have just spent the last to weekends cutting rides etc and getting to look at woods that have not been stalked or shoot for years! I.E getting to know the place.

My offer of the stalking is push towards them that want to have a go at stalking and dont have there own ground, I am working my way around the estate and finding pockets of Roe and some fallow and of-course Muntjac! but I am looking at leaving the Roe and Fallow to come on a bit before i offer stalks on them.

We had a very hard wet and windy weekend at the castle as most did i bet but we still gave it a go, we managed to grass 2 Muntjac one with a broken back leg Buck and a Doe, we where seeing good numbers of deer along the way some nice bucks and some just not offering shots! but all deer seemed to be a bit jumpy due to the winds and the tree bent in half my thoughts?. But non the same an fantastic weekend.

Got some more seats up now and a low box on the top of a bank looking down into a wood very happy to see deer passing us as if we wasn't there!

Just some of the photos of the weekend below.

As soon as the sun came out the wind died off and the Muntjac moved like mad.

And David with his first Muntjac post-10973-0-26033600-1339428548.jpg

Keep your eyes out for the next offers coming up at the Castle! Walked up days! Duck flighting! Pigeon shooting! etc etc all in the pipe line.

thanks
