Hello all ,

Sorry for the delay in replying ,

Latest is that breathing has improved , not brilliant but definetly better , not grabbing for air as much, also more relaxed.

Tried a anti histamine as suggested by Zapp, but to no avail.(really zonked me out ,but thanks anyway)

Doc has taken a series of blood for testing( a lot actually)for under active thyroid /allergy/possible poisoning at work/anemia/iron deficiency.

Another visit due to docs next friday, he is still sure it is stress related.

And beta blockers are horrible, never felt so washed out.

Thanks for all your concern and advice .

You say asthma has been ruled out but there are many causes to asthma ..mine is brought on if i worry about things..yet i can enter a dusty room without any affect...next time your short of breath..breathe into a Paper bag just a couple of times ..

I think the carbon dioxide is thinner than oxygen and it opens up the bronchcal tubes ..this works for me

I am sure one of our mediacal experts can explain better

About 14 months ago I had your symptons and remember felling exhausted after activity, short of breathness, aching neck and rapid heart rate. Last April went to the doctors and had some blood tests. Early May diagnosed with hyper thyroidism (over active). I was eating loads and loosing weight! Resting heart beat 130 and thyroid results off the scale. He put me on beta blockers and carbizimole to stop production of thyroxin.

Three days later was in hospital. Ended up being there for three weeks. Lost three stone in weight came out at 9.5 stone!!. To cut a long story short and after being pi**** off with lack of progress with NHS went private and thet were able to control it by Feb of this year. Been on beta blockers for a year and now just stopped. 10 days ago I had my thyroid removed surgically (best option as I also ended up with thyroid eye disease). Nice 5" scar on my neck and now taking thyroxin and will be for the rest of my life.

I hope all goes well with you, but if it is the thyroid give us a shout if you want a chat.

Andy
