fieldwanderer
Aside from permission that actually has pigeons on it to decoy that is  I've got; Guns (see list) 12 shell Decoys + 12 more in the post somewhere Camo clothing camo Netting Hide poles (washing line props) Ammunition I've Had a few good days decoying but it only really seems to work at harvest time on my permission (there's simply not enough birds in the air any other time), so the idea this year is to really make the most of those few weeks and look for better permission to justify any purchases. The only thing I've really missed on previous outings is a comfortable seat, the question is; Keeping everything fairly cheap, what would you add to my kit and why? Hide seat is a must, well is for me. A post a few days ago was really good, it showed you step by step how to make one cheaply. It was titled "hide seat" cheap. Cracking bit of kit he has made at a fraction of the cost. I now take a piece of waterproof foam made from the stuff around the edge of a garden trampoline, to put my feet on while sitting down, it seems to help to keep my feet a bit warmer, while sitting for hours waiting and waiting and waiting for something to fly into range. Face veil too for me is a must. Plastic bags to get your quarry home, is something I always seem to forget too. Schmoo.

ayano3
If you dont have a seat do what I did and get a fishing box Seat In mine you will find 2 nets, 12 FUDS, clips for holding the net to the poles, Flask, battery for magnet, magnet body and base, empty cigarettes packets after those desperate days, empty cases, fold away spade, dead bird props. I have an old trolley to transport it when conditions allow but its still fine to carry it on the strap.

I wouldn't use plastic bags for carrying dead birds - i use hessian sacks or something similar.

fieldwanderer
Thanks all, actually my list wasn't entirely exhaustive; I do carry hat, knife and usually a couple of sheets of kitchen roll, plus food and drink where required. Flight lines is a tricky one really, there aren't any! Or to be more accurate- apart from harvest time, there aren't enough pigeons in the air to be able to spot them (it's only really a small permission). chrispti
I would strongly recommend NOT to use the ''dog'' technique, sitting bare backside and dragging ones self along the floor using your front leggs  Edited June 9, 2012 by chrispti
