viking
rite, im in need of some new decoys as my flocked shells are a bit tatty and shot up, so im thinking of full bodied flocked, or some fuds, and i was wondering what the air pros were like, cheers, Lee
Cranfield
IMO buy flocked shells, or basic shells with the UV sillo slip over jackets from UKSW. I have found carrying a decent number of fullbodied decoys to be far too bulky and shells give you more movement. A couple of full bodieds are useful to put in hedges as lofters. Air Pro's don't impress me and there have been a large number of adverse threads on them. Most of the people I know that bought Fuds, no longer use them, for various reasons. KFC
I have half a dozen FUDS that I use regularly. Easy to carry clipped to my rucksack. I usually have a couple of deads from the freezer too. They work to get me started and, as I add in shot birds, it livens up. Using a rotary pulls in flighting birds. I have used the FUDS on their own to see if it was them that were working and they have pulled birds in. I'm not saying that they're the best decoys but I've had them for about a year and still take them every trip. That is a beauty of them, they're easy to carry. Cosd
I find the FUD's to be very good. The downside is the heavy duty red metal ground spike and the lack of movement you can get using shells on spring sticks. I cut the original ground spike off and made new ground spikes which took about ten minutes to make using welding rods. This added movement to the FUDs and they also turn into the wind by themselves, so no need to adjust the decoy direction when the wind changes direction. More than happy to put a post on showing this if anyone is interested. Cos

edge007
I tried my new FUD'S for the first time on Sunday - it pulled the birds in within 5 minutes !! Very good in my opinion
wymberley
The thing about movement is that pigeon feed and move about to do so at a given speed. Any tips, Anyone, on how to stop a gently pecking pigeon decoy from turning into a Dervish on a LSD overdose as soon as the wind picks up?
