al4x
Herts did my last but one house move over the phone, asked all the questions job done. This latest one they didn't even bother calling just sent me the new tickets. They also are renewing by phone assuming that is that you've been a good boy
compo90
i moved house in march. i have a mate who is an FEO in london. He advised me i would need to place my guns either with him or at my local rfd , and tell my feo when i have moved and get them to come and inspect my security re-issue my certificate and then i could get my guns back from either my friend or the rfd. i called my FEO......her advise......move, keep them safe and install the cabinet asap....then send my certificate back for a change of address..........she never even came out..........its now re-installed and all the guns are back in it.. compo90
What I did. i was pointing out the difference of working practices between two forces that border each other..........it doesn't make sense that someone in london is needing to pay an RFD and have another home inspection and yet someone in TVP can just move and send their cert back for a new address
Thunderbird
It's not just a case of FEOs making their own little rules up as we often read about on PW is it I wonder? Edited June 18, 2012 by Thunderbird
compo90
It's not just a case of FEOs making their own little rules up as we often read about on PW is it I wonder? i dont know.......my mate is straight up and follows the rules.........he wouldn't make up stuff, he would follow whatever he was set. and as my FEO's rules were easier and cheaper to follow I aint complaining

Cranfield
Just came across this http://www.staffordshire.police.uk/information_zone/firearms/telephone_interview This does seem a sensible procedure. My SGC expires in August and Kent Police are saying 5 to 8 weeks for renewal. Not a massive delay in comparison with what it has been, but long enough to be inconvenient.
