pete1dart
How can you attract wild pheasants? Apart from poaching your neighbours (if your not putting down any to start with) Drives me nuts... People who start feeding there land when there neighbours spend the money to put the birds there. And suddenly they are wild birds? It's called etiquette! Put some down yourself don't shoot them for a year then start calling them wild birds! Your a very good neighbour then......... The unwritten rule is you release birds (even just a token jesture) to the land if your shooting beside keepered land, clearly you are not a country fella with a quote like that. olivhar01
So what if a shoot has been set up on the neighbouring land years after I have been shooting on my land? I had wild pheasents before and now a few more since it has been set up, as I only walk around on my own with the dog and gun what's wrong with taking a few that present themselves I am sure it is not worth setting up a release pen just to replace them? if however there are no shoots around you and you are just hoping to pick up a few birds then some feeders dotted around your land might get you a few I don't put out any feeders to intice them
Martin g
So are you asking for a way to attract even more, without it been obvious to the neighbouring shoots..

I can see where the guy is coming from, I have a farmer next door feeds like hell, releases no birds, pulls mine from one side and another shoot from teh other. Shoots 4 or 5 70 bird days and releases nothing. That yanks my chain as it does yours. A
Catweazle
On the other hand, imagine that you are a farmer and your neighbour releases a load of pheasants that come over and feast on your crops.
