gixer1
Folks, I need an idea for mounting a tv, I had a 32" LCD mounted on the wall at the foot of the bed end of one of the bedrooms, I took it off the wall as I bought two free standing wardrobes. I then discovered the space between the wardrobes is 29" and the tv (including screen plus plastic surround) is 32" - the distance out from the wall is 25" so I was thinking of getting a mount that extends out from the wall 25" so the tv fairs flush with the front of the wardrobes overlapping each wardrobe by 1 1/2" I also looked at possibly buying a smaller tv but that seems silly as the one I've got is a good tv. So - any ideas??? It can't really go on any other wall...I did consider the ceiling above the bed in the room - anyone done this? Muggins.
Can`t the wardrobes turn 90% so they face each other and the tv go in between?

oscarsdad
Cross member on the two wardrobes and then mount onto that?
gixer1
can't move that wardrobes... it's at the foot of the bed so lying on side won't help... ...I've seen you using a chansaw : Cross member on the two wardrobes and then mount onto that? Thought about that but really can't justify screwing anything onto the wardrobes as they are oak! It would be cheaper to buy a new telly... Keep the ideas coming... Muggins.
Why can`t the wardrobes be moved? Seems hard to imagine that the tv can only go in one place.

huffhuff
Ditch the tv. Read a book. I've not had a tv in the bedroom since I was a wee scallywag. Although to be fair, I hardly watch the tv downstairs either.
Thelongwayup
Local fabricators. Take your old mounting kit and tell him you want the tv to extend a set distance or a bracket making to hang it off the ceiling. Once he's knocked up a rig get it powder coated. Bet it won't cost any more than £50 if you use smaller companies.

Uncle Albert
Get hold of a couple of half shafts fro a Landy, grind one end down and bang them through the screen into the wall. Job done. I'll get me coat!
m3vert
gixer i would be interested to see how they are after for that! It looks spot on but going with some of their installation photos (big fancy boats and penthouses in Knightsbridge) I reckon it will be kerching!!! If you dont mind please let us know? as I could use one of these myself

I'm going guess that you could buy 12 slightly smaller screens for the price of that lifter
working dog
Nail it to the wardrobe door with 6" nails. Knock the end of the nail on the inside of the wardrobe up. Two problems solved - TV in view and a couple of new coat hooks in the wardrobe
