Fagus Sylvatica Posted July 8, 2012 Report Share Posted July 8, 2012 Hello, first post. I am long time expat in Jakarta, Indonesia and a Brit. I was raised in the Derbyshire Dales and my first job was with the Peak District National Park's Forestry Department, after college at Newton Rigg - that seems a long time ago. I was passionate about country sports - shooting and fly fishing and probably wont be able to contribute much to the shooting sections now, since most of the time, I'm in the big smoke, but like the nostalgia and the enthusiasm non the less. It's also a barometer on the state of the nation, and seems to me, we are still islanders with a sense of purpose, a sense of humour, a sense of history and a sense of irony. I get back to Bakewell every now and again, since I married and raised kids here. When I am back, I'm fond of the Monsal Dale, the Bradford Dale trout fishing, with me Dad, and a walk round the hedgerows with a gun and a dog.
