Rimfireboy
Stumbled on a family of jays flitting about the tree tops. Unfortunately for them, due to all the damage they've been causing, I had to spoil their fun by dropping an adult and two juveniles defore the others got the message. -kev-
Thought they where supposed to eat song birds eggs? would have thought a pheasnts egg would be on the big side for them. I have only ever seen them with an acorn in there mouth TBH but have witnessed there cousin the maggpie raiding nests and killing young birds. Asa Bear
They're lovely looking birds. I saw one in my back garden on the dog's kennel. Didn't have the heart to shoot it though as its the first I've seen. His cousin gets it though any chance I get. I hate listening to the magpies raiding nests out of my range. Fisherman Mike
They are on the General list so fair game... Dont shoot them myself as ive never found them to predate on any game bird bigger than a Quail and we dont rear too may of them in these parts. pigeonblasterian
They are on the licence so you have every right to shoot them should you want to. I personally have not seen one for quite a number of years so if i did i would probably leave it. I think the ones round me choked on the pheasant eggs they tried to take.
