paddywack12
Me and Mrs are flying out to Vegas on Saturday both very excited and cant wait. Couple of questions for the PW massive 1. are the grand canyon helicopter trips worth it? should we book them up online before we get there? 2. is the clothes shopping any good ie should we travel light and have plenty of room in suitcase for way home any other must see, must do, must eat, things to recommend? daz2202
You my friend in my opinion are just about to jet off to the best place in the world . It's an adults Disney but better. Things to do Get around as many hotels as possible, they all have different themes and are well worth doing. Gondola ride in the Venetian Night show of the fountains at the Bellagio A show in ceasers Shooting at the gun store Dinner in Paris (prob the best steaks and sauces) and not to expensive Buffet breakfast in Bellagio Enjoy the place, take it all in, it's brilliant

markm
I done the canyon from the centre in a helicopter, it was great to see and only lasts half a day as mentioned. it does get a bit boring looking at the lake once your past the dam but the sheer scale of it is cool. If you want designer clothes, when I say designer I don't mean a Ralph Lauren polo shirt, I mean a one off dress for x number of thousand $'s then it's the place to shop, otherwise in the centre there is not that many bargain. There is a shopping centre but it's not cheap. I am sure there will be an outlet out away from the strip, browsing the expensive shops between the hotels is worth a one off look. Supersonic
1. Leave the Mrs at home 2. Drink and gamble every night until the sun starts to rise. 3. Find a different hooker each night. Bloggs
I've done Vegas a few times for a month at a time courtesy of the RAF. They hold NATO exercises (Redflag) at Nellis Air Force Base which is just up the road. I can honestly say the place is an absolute blast. I would highly recommend the titty bars - try all of them if you can Every day after work our GE (Ground engineer) kidnapped us on our way back to the hotel and took us on the Big shot which is on top of the Stratosphere tower - you must check this out - the first time that I went on it I honestly thought that I was going to leave the planet, it's bloomin' mental....!!! Hoover Dam is truely awesome and so is Lake Mead - hire out some jet bikes if you can, great fun but exhausting.... Fell asleep in the bar that night, very early on too! The noise of the fruit machines will drive you crazy after a while but like me I'm sure you'll just drink through it, even whilst having Steak,Eggs at 0700 hrs  Do it, you won't regret it

TattooedClayBreaker
To say me & the Mrs are green with envy is a massive understatement!!! We went to Vegas for a week as part of our Honeymoon & it was amazing! We went on the Helicopter tour with Maverick Airlines, Picked up at hotel, driven to private airport - small plane to Grand Canyon, quick tour round on a bus with a few stop off's then Helicopter tour, we were lucky enough to get the front 2 seats with pilot! Well worth the money in my eyes! Regarding shopping there is loads, we travelled light as we purchased a lot in both LA & Vegas! Restaurants we went to: Check any reviews on restaurants before going! Top of the world at Stratosphere Hotel - american - amazing views, revolving tower floor Koi - japanese/chinese asian fusion Shibuya - mgm - japanese Nora's cuisine - may have shut down? great italian if its still going Ballys steakhouse at Ballys hotel - seafood & steak Burger King in O'sheas casino - very funny watching the yanks playing beer pong bladdered whilst scoffing a BK! Fountains at Bellagio Sky Diving - Sky Dive Las Vegas - This is a MUST! Best part of our week in Vegas! Gambling: Didn't do loads of gambling but did have a hot streak on 'Wheel of fortune' slot machine, well the Mrs did! I went on the poker/3 card brag type machines, brandy & cokes for the cost of a dollar tip is always a winner! Also went on computerised roulette machines too. It was great fun as we had a laugh together when gambling, pretty much free drinks & didn't get carried away & probably came home evens or just up! We mainly gambled at MGM as we were staying The signature at MGM, had the odd go when walking through other hotels on route to meals etc. The only other place we really gambled was at Hooters bar, worth a shout to be fair, even Mrs wood thought it was a cool place, cool/tacky hooters merchandise too! Drinks: In some places drinks can be very expensive if your not gambling so we just went down to the liquor store & grabbed a few cans & a few bottles of Barefoot Rose (American wine - very nice & cheap) & would have a drink whilst getting ready before heading out! We didn't have enough time to do everything we wanted so missed out on 'the wall' at gunstore & outdoor world! Gutted! Also I would recommend hiring a car, we didn't, spunked a load of reddies hiring a convertible Mustang in LA! If we went back to Vegas again we would defo hire a car & mooch further a field! Enjoy! Dr_Scholl
Those PTR-91's are nice. I don't own one personally, but my dad's friend has one chambered in 7.62x39. I got the chance to shoot it a few months ago and I was very impressed.

Thunderbird
Can you still drink (and smoke) free if your playing? You could when I went in 2003. Even if you were on the 5c slots the scantily clad, leggy waitresses (not that I noticed) paid plenty of attention. God knows what you got on the high tables! The mind boggles.
