bedwards1966
Don't worry about the make, at that price range they'll all be similar. Just find something that fits, isn't pitted, and has a tight action (remove the forend, and try to twist the barrels in relation to the stock; there should not be much movement). Check the forend is tight, and that the stock isn't cracked, that's it. You might have to look at a few to get the choking you want, many SxS's have a very tight choke, but some are more open. Thanks for any help :good: Hi pal I'm up in Northumberland with the family for a few days and I've just added to my collection my first SxS it's a baikal IJ-26 , 12 gauge its a proper Elma thud gun not perfect as the forend has a small nick of wood missing but besides that it goes bang bang, for a grand sum of .......£40. hoggysreels
I got my hands on a Baikal IJ-58 SBS a while back ... its in excellent condition ... used it yesterday on the Pigeon, only thing is the trigger guard hits my index finger when using 30g or above cartridges, but it doesnt stop me firing them ... put a few 36g No5 cartridges through it yesterday as well, then decided to go back to the OU when the swelling became visually noticable ... love it

HDAV
While it doesn't matter where its made why buy russian or spanish? When you can buy brittish? you can pick up a clean if basic brittish gun for that sort of money, BSA boxlock none ejector on gunwatch for £250 or similar etc brittish built some history as lOng as its 2 3/4 chambered and barrelled are clean why not? As a mooching or second gun it's what I would have, but you can only shoot one at a time..... http://www.gunwatch.co.uk/guns/3990-BSA-for-sale Hoggy it's probably too short in stock hence the finger bashing!
