Royboy
Has anybody shot here before ? I shot it yesterday and its the toughest clay ground ive shot !! I'm a terrible shot but 17 out of 50 is a outrage !!!! What does anyone else think ?
BlaserF3
I shot it on Friday and the only stand that I thought was a difficult clay, was the going away teal on stand six, which is the report bird after an easy driven. I followed three blokes on three stands and I think they hit five clays between them. Edited August 5, 2012 by BlaserF3
Royboy
haha no way ! I cleared stand six ! I think it was stand 8 or 9 that i blanked ! They were to far away !!
BlaserF3
They are not too far away, most of them are midis, you need to have another go
Royboy
Ye im just joking they are doable but just just quit a hard ground i thought. I was talking to a few others and they were saying the same thing but id defiantly go back
BlaserF3
When I first went to Blackpool, which is a long time ago, I found them difficult too. It's a learning curve, that's why shooting at different grounds is a good idea.
beeredup
they are only difficult if you let your brain tell you they are difficult :cry1:

phil moss
The only way to become a better , more proficient shot is to shoot harder targets, ive just returned from the world sporting, NOW they were HARD targets !!!!!!!!!
EdSolomons
You dont learn from shooting easy clays, you learn and improve from missing!

beeredup
i am thinking and analysing the clay for far too long i just need to shoot what i see!!
BlaserF3
You dont learn from shooting easy clays, you learn and improve from missing! He has not been shooting for very long and if he shoots naturally he shoots very well, if he lingers too long it's a miss. He's still in the learning stage but he's getting there. Spud dog
Yes it is difficult, but that's the challenge, shot 30 ex 50 today. that teal on stand 6 was hard no where near. Loved it just need to keep concentrating to get up to respectable 35/

simon6ppc
ive shot Blackpool for years now and Andy is sound as a pound.l like blackpool best out of all the northwest grounds simply because of the hard clays, andy puts top clays on, but to me if you want to shoot better thats the place to be... i know lads who shoot same place all the time and get 43 out 50 yet go blackpool and do 25 out 50 then never go again, but every one to there own i suppose, ive shot crossers there that need 8 feet lead, super if you ask me.... southrop
Blackpool is a great ground for tough sporting practice. A real ground for sporting enthusiasts with targets that need thinking about. Hope if doesn't go soft.
Del T
Hi people, my first post here. What would this place be like for a beginner? I used to enjoy winter carping and the Mrs enjoyed coming along too. That was until one time it was -5,the lake was frozen and icicles were hanging from the rods! So we could do with a change,we just want to try it out and if we both enjoy will get all the gear. I dropped wyre gun club a email, just waiting for a response and then I found this place. Cheers
BlaserF3
There are a couple of stands with easier clays than the others which are used for tuition, ask Andy to show you where they are. The clays are very close and nice and slow. Crabtree farm at Lupton has some stands that are set up for novices, fibre wad only though http://www.crabtreeclayshoot.co.uk/
DNS
Del T: Wyre Gun Club strongly recommended for a beginner - but only open Sunday mornings. I'd save Blackpool for a while if I were you; it's good, but probably not confidence-boosting!
