provarmint
Similar to using the case as a double wad, safer with these, http://www.chedditeitaly.com/en/prodotti_det_1.php?id_cartuccia_sel=117&id_calibro=

nabbers
First saw this soloution on Magpul Industries 'Dynamamic Shotgun' video, it will be on Youtube. The guys that make those videos are ex Blackwater, US Marines and Coastguard who have served in war and drug cartel zones and train others how to shoot and stay alive in those situations, or just at home in a home invasion scenario. They are selling a well produced video in one of the most litigious nations in the world. They use this technique and don't hint at any safety implications so I am 100% confident it is safe in a modern semi auto or pump action gun designed for use with slugs as well as shot. The point is, other than training, this technique is ideal for a life or death situation, taking out a threat where buckshot as they would call it won't do or a survival situation where you want to be sure of securing a big lump of food like a deer. We could have a lot more fun in this country if it was allowed. Edited August 18, 2012 by nabbers
-Mongrel-
I'd imagine from the design of this that if you shot a deer--or anything, in fact-- all the expansion would be on the skin with no effective penetration--thus a badly wounded animal. I reckon it would penetrate pretty well actually and cause a lot of damage as it went through. Skin and muscle isn't that resilient you know. Would require good shot placement for a clean kill though, which would be trickier with a shotgun.
nabbers
Somewhere on PW is a thread on a US dude shooting up fridge doors and metal panels at 100 yards with one ounce slugs and he is achieving practical taget shooter accuracy, flat trajectory and extreme trauma apparent by massive exit wounds. I reckon laying down a full one ounce of shot in one square inch of body mass is a clean kill at 100 yards.

Never heard or seen any problems. Edited August 18, 2012 by Fisheruk

Vince Green
We used to do this thirty odd years ago. Its not new, It does work but candle wax in the shot charge works better.
