i do agree in part with the mike hailwood accolade mike was fantastic in his time and to retire as he did and come back 10 years later and win the isle of man tt is unbelievable but once a fast rider always a fast rider its only old injuries and motivation that will stop you if you have the best bike and as rossi will have a very competitive bike i cant wait to see what happens i also agree simmoncelli would have made a fantastic world champ because we all love a fearless hard charging rider but would he have stayed out of crashes ( i dont think so) rossi has had many crashes in his career but has only had 1 bad one that stopped him at the next round of a gp stoner is a good champion but his head went a couple of years ago and he has only been riding for the money roll on next year and i hope karl crutchlow wins lots for us brits

i think that most of us brits just lack the killer instinct. we are and always have been good on motorcycle racing but we dont start our kids young enough as they do in the rest of europe. we value family and life more and dont need to win to be able to have a good and successfull life .we just enjoy winning on our day and basking in our 15 mins of fame and thats not a bad thing i personnaly had 10 good years racing and had a great time won lots of small championships and luckily enough stayed injury free however i have seen a lot of my friends lose there lives in the late 70s-80s and the sport is faster now but a hell of a lot safer to win now you need to start early be consistantly fast get sponsered with a high profile team and keep moving up the ladder and dont settle for uk racing

Ref injuries Rossi has suffered, in comparison to many they are very few. He is only one of two champion riders not to had to retire due to injuries ( to date) that prevented riding a bike, the other is Wayne Gardner I think. The likes of Doohan, Criville, Schwantz etc have all been champions but had to retire because the bikes bit them once too often. Doohans list of injuries is horrific - nearly lost a leg, mashed ankles and toes removed so he can walk properly. Given Rossis longevity in GPs, 500's, 990's, 800's and now 1000's, he's relatively unscathed.

Dovi on the Ducati is a career ender unless the Italians pull a rabbit out of the hat. Rossis will be competitive no dobt on the Yamaha

Rossi is hardly a shadow of his former self but his powers are on the wane as the young guns march on,he is however at the peak of his marketable value,a quality not lost on the bean counters at yamaha.I will bet he is on the podium for a third of the races, allowing for injury and will be having some fun with william hill over the season.

I'm with you on that one, Smith doesn't seem to have the killer instinct. Scott on the other hand seems happy to duke it out with anyone.

God knows how Bradley managed to secure a guaranteed Moto GP ride for next season.

It is a waste of a decent bike to give it to him- he will never be good enough to win Moto 2, let alone Moto GP.

I can see Rossi getting on the podium a few times next year, maybe the odd win, but he will struggle to regain the championship unless Lorenzo has a few DNFs for whatever reason. This year though, Cal Crutchlow has been impressive for me and quite strong to the end.

Dovvy would have been a title contender for next year had he not switched teams :ermm:

Never in a month of Sundays will a satellite team produce a title contender

both Crutchlow and Dovi know the only way to win is on a factory team,

Only factory ride left was the Ducati

Dovi has done well on a satellite bike BUT remember he has had the luxury of full factory brakes. Cal hasnt, if Dovi hadnt he wouldnt have done as well,

Tend to agree about Smith though, too "nice" Redding would be the better bet but as has already been said, I stand to be corrected

I totally disagree I think you'll find Badley will be a contender right from the off he has struggled this year with his power to wieght ratio but come next year will not be so much of a problem after all he was dam quick on 125cc far better than reading but hey lets wait and see !
