miniross
There are tons of recipies online I have used alot for brewing my own wine strawberry, gooseberry, elderberry (very strong stuff but needs to age at least a year in the bottles so much nicer) and best of all rhubarb wish I made a few more gallons of that. BSA-airgunner
i use this forum http://jimsbeerkit.co.uk/forum/index.php and at the moment im just about to bottle 40 pints of turbo cider . im not sure why its called turbo cider as its upto two weeks to ferment out and minimum four weeks in the bottle to mature it is by far the cheapest home brew i think as five gallons of apple juice cost from £8 to £12 ...i finished a beer kit a few weeks back a woodfordes wherry bitter one week to ferment and four weeks to mature in the bottle the chilled in the fridge £20 for 40 pints.... the turbo ciders can be real mean on standard youngs cider yeast i have got 10.2% alcohol it was very crisp with a light apple flavour but hells teeth wonky eyes after an hour...on the other hand brewing it to 6 - 8 % or lower gave a good refreshing pint that seemed just right for the warm BBQ evenings.... leeds chimp
I made a batch of cider and a batch of beer..worked out at about 40p a pint.....the cider was rocket fuel....4 pints and i felt drunk the beer needed longer to mature than what the label said but very nice.. Will be making some more once I get back from fishing in Ireland

Uncle Albert
I used to brew a lot, from wine to beer. Best of all, wine wise, was elderberry, using a burgandy yeast. Deffinately "falling of ones perch" material. Don't put it in a waxed paper cup as it will go through the wax like lightening. Wonderfull stuff, hypnotic like effect on oneself. Like a well matured claret. HID used to get paralytic drinking the dregs when I was decanting the stuff. Also a very good and useful way of getting rid of old socks and underpants. You can make wine out of anything as long as it ain't poisonous. The biggest problem with brewing is being able to leave it long enough to mature.
Whitebridges
I'm a bit of a noobie at brewing but tonight i'm bottling up 40 pints of Fixby Gold http://www.brupaks.com/fixbygold.htm When this is sorted i'm going to try the Colne Valley Bitter http://www.brupaks.c...com/colne.htm Paul in in our local brew shop is a very helpful guy and has been a great help. http://www.goodlifehomebrew.com/ It's all a bit of a minefield to start. If these two brews work out then it'll be a mash tun etc.etc.etc. Edited August 23, 2012 by Whitebridges
Andy135
I made crabapple cider last season from our own trees. Got it up to 9% but could strip paint with it. Had to dilute it to drink as it was too sharp. Will go for a four week ferment this season and aim for 6% with some fruit sugars left to improve the palatability. Also have some sloe gin maturing in the cupboard. With all of the homebrewers on here we'll have to have a PW home brew beer festival.
