  1. Fantastic project, I've wanted to learn how to engrave for a while now, it's always something I've had in the back of my head, and I've also thought of making a pneumatic engraver, I think it's great you've just gone for it! Have you ground the gravers yourself too? What's your sharpening set up?

before coughing up for brand new tweed I'd have a look around your local charity shops, you can often get a right steal

    Home brew

I've done a but, great fun, and each brew gets better and better every time. CHeck out www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk
  4. To me rugby just seems so much more flowing, I can't watch football without losing the will to live, each to their own though. The six nations so far has had some pretty good quality rugby being played, I can't wait for the world cup.
  5. If you're using straight linseed oil it just needs to dry for a long time to avoid it going sticky, but cutting it about 2 parts oil and 1 part white spirit lets it soak in deeper, then the white spirit evaporates leaving just the oil, so it penetrates better, just leave it till it's touch dry then go over with wire wool, and do it a couple of times. Maybe doing a neat coat of oil to finish it off.
  6. Keep a regular breathing pattern, and hold the rifle firmly but let it recoil, go with it and don't try to stop it, seems best for me anyway. Just try to make sure you use the exact same technique for every shot, and maybe try some different pellets, dome heads are usually the most accurate.
  7. I'm jealous, the s200 is great! That scope is huge looks loads of fun.
  8. In theory it's simple enough to make, but at the small that's legal scale a fraction of a gram can make a huge difference to the ratio. The chemicals are readily available (KN03, sulphur and charcoal), but the equipment required like a ball mill, very accurate scales, and mesh to grade it can be expensive. And the last thing you want is the ball mill to blow up when milling the powder, but that's very unlikely, but I would do it in a concrete box of some sort! If you feel confident with it, and you know the laws regarding it inside out, go for it. Just stay on the right side of them.

    Stag Antler

I've got a big bit of shed stag antler for sale, I got it from someone on here but I never got round to using it, it's about 60cm end to end, I believe it was found shed in Exmoor but I've forgotten what I was told, I'd like £25+p&p which I expect will be about £5-£10 depending where you are as it weighs quite a bit. I'm located near Bath.
  11. A pair of size 7 le chameau all track wellies, little use and i grew out of them, they've had a clean since the pics, i want £30+p&p,they were about £60 new, im near bath.
  12. I wouldn't do it myself, £170 seems like a lot of money and i'm not sure how much difference it would make in the field, but if you're not planning on selling it and really want to, go for it.
  13. Pair of le chameau all track wellington boots, size 7, used but not abused. £60 new, I want £30+p&p. Located near Bath. Had a quick clean since the pics were taken.
  14. I've got some kicking about if you want, pm me.

    Broken Knife

If you want to regrind the shape of the blade you'll have to go really slowly with some water at hand to keep the blade cool so it wont lose its temper, or if it does you could do the heat treat again, but it's probably stainless and for a bushcraft type knife carbon steel would be better. But that's down to opinion really.

    Good boots/footwear

Walking boots or wellies? I've got some le chameau wellies that are really nice and i've always got karimor walking boots and so long as you treat them often they're fine. I'm a whip for a mink hunt (rats now) and my walking boots have a really tough time, my last pair the just fell apart and were ripped to shreds, but the ones i have at the mo are going well. Hope this helps
  22. I've got the same problem, 14 as well, i just ended up saving all my birthday and christmas money up, and going through my bedroom and selling anything i didn't need, still far too short for a nice rifle so I'm just gonna do up the one i have at the mo...
