DaveyTed
Hi All Has anyone had any dealings, good or bad, with the above shop at Westerham, Kent. Also, what are they like for inhouse gun repairs? Thanks in advance
chrispti
My experience is, they are tight fisted and wouldn't even throw a box of cartridges in when I purchased a new gun from them .....
Canis
i have had a repair done by the Saddlery and Gunrooms they subbed out part of the work and it took an age. On the plus side they do a lot of the work in house and have as shedule of costs so you know what you will pay. my main irritation with them was when recently i went in taking a gun to trade, I got told that they only had one person in the business that could make a decision and he wasn't available that day. If you are a gun dealer and you cant deal why be open ! Which end of kent are you / what sort of repairs do you need ?
DaveyTed
Thanks for the replies guys. In reply to Canis, I actually live in Essex but pass their way regularly. The reason for my interest in them was I am thinking about having a gun fitted and they seem able to do everything on site - fitting, pattern plate and stock adjustments and the quoted prices seem good. Catweazle
They don't have many guns on show, you have to ask and they'll bring some out for you to look at.
walshie
Only had good dealings with them.
GingerCat
Got my lanber from them. 200 carts later and the second barrel was fan firing. Took it to them for repair which took 3 weeks to tighten the second trigger. Gun is fine but but it did seem a while for such a simple repair. Good selection of carts there. lasbrisas
They told me that a shotgun they had was a Mossberg 500 but it was an 88, you can tell where the safety is, I'm afraid that told me about their experience and I never went back. jamiedenny
can't be any worse than the tight fisted, rude and arrogant shops in southern Kent.

Speaking to their gunsmith when my gun was in for repair, their gunsmoth only believes in altering cast by changing the fit of the wood between the stock and the action not bending the stock. As i wanted a twist and bend applied to my stock he could not assist.
DaveyTed
Thanks for that info Canis I too want a twist applied to my stock so I'll be looking elsewhere to get the work done.
