Theskyfox
Hi all, I know its a bit early but basically next year Im looking to get a .177 pcp multishot to add to my current collection......Ive been looking at the Air arms since they have such good views and I didnt really like the look so much of the Theobens/Daystates....anyway to the point, I noticed the S400 and S410 look practically identical but yet theres at least a £100 price difference between them. Would anyone kindly like to point out what the difference is? I mean they both have the valve system and look identical... Cheers -Andrew
Mungler
The S410 has an inbuilt pressure guage (so you can tell when it is charged / empty) the S400 I don't think has.
SNAKEBITE
Would anyone kindly like to point out what the difference is? I mean they both have the valve system and look identical... The only difference is one is single shot and one is a multi-shot. They charge you £100 extra for the priviledge of having a multishot. There is no other difference at all. None. Nada. Zilch. Theskyfox
Hmm kool cheers, The S410 sounds better to me because its multishot....I can understand why you would say the s400 is better for HFT...Im guessing its because you have to remove the magazine between every shot you take and would have to unload it? I would be using it for hunting and general plinking (no HFT around here unfortunately)....Id probably go for the S410. =) Cheers all -Andrew

Lancs Lad
You can get a single shot tray for the 410.................. Makes you laugh though doesnt it.............an extra hundred quid for a slight machine change...............

king ratcatcher
The only diffrence between the s400 and s410 is the s410 is a 10 shot, the 10 shots do come in handy, there both nice air rifles and are as accurate as each other, as magman said the s200 is as good as but some people dont like the stock, my brother had a s410k, and an s200, both cracking rifles, and cant fault them
leeboy
I've got an S410K and had it for about 3 years. Its without a doubt the best rifle I've ever used in the 20 odd years I've hunting with an airgun. There may well be others that are better but I havn't shot them. I would reccomend the gun to anyone. I really dont understand why anyone would buy a single shot PCP, horribly fiddly and slow. however I've never shot FT or HFT. Maybe its the rules ? Does the single shot have some advantage over the multi shot ? from a hunting perspective I cant imagine what that would be. The S200 I'm told is also an excellent gun, just butt ugly. SNAKEBITE
No offence meant but this thread started out as a simple question which was answered reasonably quickly, yet here we are on page 2 of the thread going over the same thing time and time again! Let's move on to another thread and progress, not digress!
dr_nick
I found the s400 awkward to load, scope got in the way. Not a big deal but the s410 is far easier.
trakker01
& the tdr, is same as the 410 exept the wood right??? dunno, tell me!!
kipper
I was thinking about buying an s410 anyone reccommend them? Ive had my s410k for about 3yrs and it is a fantastick, Imo very accurate light weight easy to use great for hunting, only thing I dont like about it is it has no safety catch, (but the new model has) you can have a new triger fitted with a safety catch, just send the rifle to Air Arms and they will fit it,£40 get one you wont regret it, kipper
P03
No offence meant but this thread started out as a simple question which was answered reasonably quickly, yet here we are on page 2 of the thread going over the same thing time and time again! Let's move on to another thread and progress, not digress! But that's what makes it so much more interesting & the tdr, is same as the 410 exept the wood right??:good:? dunno, tell me!! TDR = Take Down Rifle so no it's not JUST the wood. As the name implies the TDR is designed to break down into a small package that can be easily and unobtrusively carried, although, I believe the action is the same as an S410. P03
Just checked the Air Arms web site and the TDR is an S410 so yes it is the same 'mechanics'
