wickedandlazee
Here's my first go - pics before and after of dressing a hen pheasant my mate dropped round. Thanks for pointing me towards your pinned topic on dressing of birds HenryD as the old maxim goes - a picture speaks a thousand words. Also having tried plucking one first then skinning one its defnietly skinning for me - so much bloody easier before after

Mungler
Hmm is it october already? Yes indeed, I was thinking that too. I think he picked the bird up from a farmers market.....
wickedandlazee
It was a case of a mercy killing as it had been hit by a car or something so he put it out of its misery as opposed to shooting it. No fear of shooting out of season Good thought

pestbry
looks like a poult to me u sure its not been feeding on pellets with additives in the pellets ? did u check its crop? But u might be lucky as some areas start shooting oct 1st, so should be early well grown birds. That looks like a poult but i might be wrong lol Bry
beatingisbest
has anyone noticed the headline in the newspaper in the first picture sounds a bit suspect to me
wickedandlazee
- what a headline never noticed that :lol:As for what i am going to do next i am going to eat it probably roast it with roast tatties and maybe parsnips if i can get any plus stuffing, sprouts and peas, gravy and mash - thats should do it although i am open to ideas  i shall peruse the recipes section. Nothing suspect about this post though As for the peg well thats for purely deviant sexual practices p.s. - checked the crop-full of what looked like grass seed or something similar certainly no pellets.
