acsimmo
The wife has said I can get a dog when I get back in a few months. Asked the kids what we should call the new pup when we get it and it has just caused an argument between them. I am looking at getting a black lab (dog). It will be a working dog so don't want a "fluffy" name. Any suggestions?
kent
yep, letting the kids choose is fatal. better put a list to them and have a vote (you put the candidates down from YOUR choice) or end up with fluffy
955i
How about Teach (last name of Edward Teach otherwise known as Blackbeard) short and easy and with sharp enough sounding syllables to carry a distance for training :-)

ETO
I have; Sadie, Benjie, Jack, Lou and Pen. Louie and Pennie are the gundogs, they have their proper names and the names I use for recall etc. So you could get a name you can shorten. My nieces call the dogs Louie and Pennie, but if I'm out training, they're Lou and Pen. Works just the same. My next one will be called Tick. I'm planning on a WCS - so ticking time bomb . I know a Husky x called Flea.
