  1. What about getting him a day on a good lake for the day or a ticket to a flower show like Chelsea next year.
  2. 150 BIRD FULLY DRIVEN DAY AVAILABLE IN NORTH STAFFORDSHIRE. Day available on the 16th Nov for upto 10 guns. Bag will be 150 birds consisting of Pheasant and Duck, there are partridge down as well. Day consists of 6 drives, to begin the day everyone meets at the shoot cabin for breakfast, safety brief and drawing of pegs. From here we set out to complete the first 2/3 drives. Elevenses are in the barn (out of the weather) followed by the remaining drives before heading back to the cabin for a home cooked meal and the sweep results. The day with full hospitality is £500 per gun with no overages. Ideally looking for a full team to take the day.
  3. Evening all, Thought I would just put up a quick update on the shoot. We have secured all the land again for the coming season as well as a new wood block and the go ahead to put a lot more cover crops in to get the best out of the landscape. We have two new pens being built in the next month or so as well as updating the water system so we can put drinkers into the cover crops. We are going to do the same as last year and sell pegs on the majority of the shoot days which are all going to be on Saturdays. These will be 100 bird days and will be sold for £350 per gun including all hospitality. If anyone is interested in taking a peg please PM either myself or Steve (The Gouse). We will hopefully see some old and new faces this coming season and more importantly have some good days in the field. Regards Al
  4. Dependant on what you are using, you should be able to “track”, this will save where you have been as well as distance, speed, elevation etc. When you want to retrace just tell the device to follow route backwards. Other option is to add waypoints before you leave so you can follow as you go, then the same, just reverse the route.
  5. Glad you had a good day, thanks for the company.
  6. It certainly is. If the mind is willing.....
  7. Looks like a HF monopole and a HF sloping wire for longer distance, could also be used for VHF/CB dependant on the frequencies. Buy a cheap scanner and have a listen.
  8. Have you thought about contacting the Sqn direct, it is now an auxiliary unit in Glasgow, They are normally happy to pay for items using heritage funds etc. If they don’t want it directly they will be able to put you in touch with someone at the RAF museum who I would imagine would have info on the picture at the very least.

    Pigeon Decoys

If it doesn’t go to above could I have them please.
  10. Could you also PM me with payment details for one of the net bags if possible please. Thanks
  11. Brilliant photo. Mine is the same with water.
  12. If you can afford re-occurring vet fees then I agree with just putting aside each month. I dont and pay insurance each month, I have never had a problem claiming for the collie who is 14 and on all sorts, we pay every visit to the vet and then claim every 6 months. The lab who is 4 recently had an infection in both front feet for an unknown reason, there were no questions asked, paid the £600 straight away. Both are insured with More Than for a reasonable monthly amount, both on lifetime policies. And they cover working dogs.

Hopefully have a good Scottish show tomorrow as I'm heading up for the game. If nothing else it counts for my valentines present to the wife, she doesn't realise she won't see any of the city 😁
  14. You could always buy a decent bottle of however much then print a label. Label could consist of various things like what you have seen rather than what you have shot. A thank you on the label to him and his wife. Make it personal.
  15. Can't help as such but I recently had the same with my daughter. We went to PC world and asked for there advice, listened to it all then went away with the specs and had a look online, as it happened when we chose one PC world were the cheapest online (cheaper than in store). Pretty sure they do price match as well.
  16. Watched it also, well done to him. Can't believe how many no birds there were.
  17. Well we will be back again in the next couple of days as he keeps asking when we are going back. Just need to try and find a cheap 20 o/u as he was getting annoyed he couldn't shoot on report like me (he did try the 12 but it's too heavy). Whilst he's interested we will go as often as possible and if he decides not to continue in the future then I will have an extra gun in cabinet. Win win. It's good to get them out the house whatever age.
  18. The cost don't bother me, the fact he might beat me does 😂
  19. Well what a brilliant morning. The lad who is now 11 keeps asking about going for a round of clays so today the family went for a round of sporting. Ben listened to everything he was told and pulled off some lovely shots with his single 20. We shot a 25 and he hit 12 so just shy of the 50%. The 8 year old daughter was on the button and apart from not listening and blaming her ear defence she also done a fantastic job. The wife is not happy as he beat her which I'm over the moon at haha. http://s1021.photobucket.com/user/acsimmo/media/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpssd4qhccz.jpeg.html?sort=3&o=1 http://s1021.photobucket.com/user/acsimmo/media/Mobile%20Uploads/trim.50023F1E-D978-460E-A977-FA9745993878_zpsovcfbvy9.mp4.html?sort=3&o=0 http://s1021.photobucket.com/user/acsimmo/media/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsob0lnzat.png.html?sort=3&o=2 Hopefully there's a couple of pics and a video.
  20. I am with them but only as I am a range safety officer and to get the qualification I needed clubman membership. It is part of the clubs constitution and states you must be qualified and insured by the CPSA. I have never really questioned this (I am also a BASC member). If anyone knows if this is right or wrong I would be interested to find out. Atb.
  21. When I'm on tour or exercise I pay £5ph to the lass that takes mine out. She takes him just on his own. She also asked to come out with us for 2 walks to see how he recalls etc and make sure he would listen to her off lead. She has also got CRB, think it's to do with not having criminal past etc as she has key for house. She is looking to get fitter and earn pocket money whilst kids are at nursery. Can't fault her.
  22. I have a 59 plate rodeo and the computer is saying I am getting 34mpg but I do a lot of short trips with it in town etc. With a newer engine it should be better.
