utectok
Anyone else have a wee go this morning? Managed 5 widgeon. 3 I had to collect at low tide later on as it was to wild to send my wee dog over the river. But good to collect the lot (even if the river did go over my waders a bit!). Happy days

kent
heck the weather is all over the place, wind switching in stength from howling gale to light breeze when i look at for weekend- its anybodys guess were to head for. One thing for sure i will be choosing someplace i can actually get off if it looks like making a lot more. Well done on the widgeon, glad to hear you made every effort to pick everything even if it meant wet legs
silver pigeon 3
Top stuff, I am planning to go out this weekend but the river is in full flood so will be difficult to shoot out on the foreshore and the splashes now resemble a reservoir so trying to track down the duck is going to be tricky
Big Mat
Wind is really picking up at mine, got a half day at work tomorrow and i'm meant to be exchanging a load of wood in the afternoon. Might have to skip that and head down to sheps!
ayano3
Working tomorrow and I know it will be like a summer day Saturday & Sunday Fingers crossed though Well done for collecting what you shot OP. Nice to see you thought about the dog too
The Croc
Only got foreshore to go to, and the river is going like a train even at low tide, (which looks like a high tide) so unfortunately will be giving it a miss
Terry P
I was out on a new marsh this morning, it was wild, managed a mallard and a pintail, it was more difficult walking back with the wind than walking out into the wind, it was like someone was pushing me along, gladly the rain held off just long enough

utectok
More storms on Saturday good for shooting but gonna ruin the end of season for our salmon river as its already flooded and unfishable
Reabrook
It was truly wild down this way. Luckily the heavy rain held off until after dark. Despite the supposed ideal conditions very little moved on the tide or the evening flight it was just to rough. We now have so much water on the fields duck if undisturbed have little need to move. lister1
I went out yesterday morn but the weather cleared and the shooting was poor, we could hear the geese out on the river but there weren't moving.
Grandalf
Yep - Yesterday was a superb day for fowling. Pity I was trying to run a days pheasant shoot... Even though we did most of the drives the opposite way to normal I would think most of the birds came down the other side of the next village. Going to take them a long time to walk home again. Today when I could have gone fowling - Flat calm and brilliant sunshine!
lister1
Thats how it goes. Still enjoy being on the marsh though. Infact I really didn't want to be at work today.

I dont think the clear sky and half moon did us any favours as it was as bright as a button walking along the sea wall. I still enjoyed it though, I would sooner be on the marsh than laid in bed Decided not to post pictures of piles of dead birds by the way Regards Hcc

lister1
Any bird is better than no bird. I feel a little jealous if I'm honest. Didn't realise holdbeach fielded was that sort of club!
