All it does is highlight their narrow mindness just because it dont conform to their way of thinking. Whats next on the witchhunt-pump actions? If you haven't already done so can you put me on ignore as well - for the simple reason you asked for opinions and when recieved spat your dummy out...my initial posts were in jest but also contained an element of how this gun will be seen - as someone has already said - regardless of legal or not you are setting yourself up for more hassle if Mr/mrs dogwalker sees a camo dressed man with a tactical/military style weapon and call plod - they will come out and you may loose a day shooting due to all the red tape - how a person is dressed and what they are carrying shouldnt matter - but the simple fact is that it does matter. the other problem with this gun is they can be punreliable - and I speak from experience of owning the wildfowling version (which I believe has the same action as the rambo/postoffice version) Pay your money, take your chances....end up lying on a bunk bed face down with a large black man named "tiny" whispering sweet nothings in your ear There have been a few members on this forum alone who have had run ins with members of the public and police and have had big fall outs due to this and even one member who lost his cert - why put any more chance on this? I don't get why everyone is up in arms - in reality we all know tactical/military type weapons are frowned upon and can be problematic - regardless of whether that's right or wrong - that's the way it is - you also restrict what you can do with the gun as driven shooting is out with most of the estates I know of. buy the thing and learn the hard way like others have. Not sure, I'm in the US at the moment so will have a look when I get back next week, fairly sure it will be. As for the usual Hatstand comments I can only go by my own experience, I currently have 3, a 5yr old mk1 semi which continually works without fault, an O/U Silver Select which has a nice tight action and handles well and the MPA Sec.1. I bought a mk3 semi after seeing all the "it won't last, break, drop to bits" comments about the mk1's but as it stood virtually unused for 3 years I sold it as it wasn't needed. JONAH898 Posted December 6, 2012 Report Share Posted December 6, 2012 I brought the hatsan marine pump action" yes the nickle one" and love it and is a dream to shoot and my dad brought the hatsan mp in pump action last week which we took to leek gun club for a round of clays. The main response was with people wanting a closer look and a hold and that it was something different but in a good way. Yes u look like arnie or sumone out of call of duty but if its nice to use and you shoot good with it and most of all puts a big smile on your face Carnt see the problem. In Britain we're far too complicit and tend to follow the herd, screw the herd, stand out and make them realise they've wasted thousands on engraving when your £300 snorter will do exactly the same thing in the right hands. A lot of people get told what they NEED by people who sell just what they're recommending. This message is reinforced by other people who went through the same indoctrination process years before. So we have a never ending cycle of sales, marketing s, accepted 'norms' and then we're trapped in a fusty tweed-smelling loop of buying the old predictable cack our grandfathers did, while the world has moved on. Only in shooting circles are people still feeling chuffed to use technology dating back to the 1900s, mostly rustled up in the Far East, Turkey or Italy. If we all applied this type of thinking to our other purchases and hobbies, we'd be walking down the street clutching a wind up gramophone under our arms rather than an iPod. And rather than typing this in my living room on an iPad, I'd be penning a strong letter of complaint on s e parchment, ready to roll up small, and stuff into a Pigeons sock!
