Well That Didn't Take Long

Finally got out with my new Archer tonight after various delays.Intention was to make sure it was set up same as the previous 1.

Shoot captain had seen tracks and got a whiff of Fox in same area this week and a dead ewe had been munched on,so headed past with the lamp after waiting at home for the rain to ease and sure enough i picked out a Fox in the next field over mooching around a fallen tree.

Gate was open,so through the mud, park up,quickly attach the Archer, adjust the parallax and we're good to go.Have a look..no sign.Undeterred i fully loaded the rifle and had a little squeak..nothing,so i walked down to the wall and checked with the NV,here it is walking up the field some 150yds away.Archer is attached and i think this gate post is perfect, only to see someone has placed a rock on top of it  ah well, the thin post next to it will have to do.

I see nothing and then it appears from behind the tree some 80yds away, what a cracking clear picture i have ( splashed out on an A grade). It takes a few steps then stops side on,crack a very loud thump and i watch him crumble through the scope.

Nice big Dog Fox some 15mins after spotting him.

Farmer turned up as his neighbour had seen a motor in the field, not know how to use your phone says i? :P (he's a good mate) We had a laugh and used the time productively to organise going out for a pint.He was pleased to see the Fox so all was well.

Had a ride around but rain got heavier,so pleased with the 1 and still to fine tune the NV,i headed home for a glass of red

Thanks for reading and it's great to have NV again :good:
