WinchesterDave
Might sound like a silly question but would clear pigeon 32g 6 be ok for clays? I haven't got any clay carts left. Obviously I wouldn't usually use this cartridge but quite fancy going tomorrow for a shoot and that's all I've got
fenboy
Most clay ground will not allow cartridges over 28 gram and 7 shot , cant you just buy some at the ground ??
WinchesterDave
I can do but I'm asking my parents for The money and want to keep it as cheap as I can.
Gordon R
If you know anyone shooting at wherever you are going - I would take them and offer to swap. Depends where you are shooting. If you are at Rishton - I would trade shells. Don't use 6s myself, but a few mates do.

PhilR
Probably mid to late 80's IIRC.
robbiep
It isn't a rule, as such. It does vary from gorund to ground. One place I shoot at, No 6 is fine, another says nothing larger than 28g No.7, another says 28g 7.
hillmouse
For all Home disciplines a cartridge loaded with no more than 28grams of shot, not exceeding 2.6mm in size shall be used. Thats an ounce of 6's in old money. The majority of grounds adopt this as a general rule as an exclusion zone of 275m, 300 yards is based on this load. grousemoor
Sometimes the 28g rule is linked to the planning permission for the ground
SakoQuad
28g 7's seems pretty common rule on clay grounds around here. At least one of the grounds say they have the rule because of the "extra" noise created by heavier loads.
shaun4860
Our club is 28g 7's Rule as an exclusion zone of 275m, 300 yards is based on this load.
