I recently borrowed the above off a mate in work, and was impressed with it. I tried it in my shotguns and could easily see the red dot of the laser. On my shotguns, it was slightly underneath the bead, but inline to where I was aiming.

For the price,I think it's a good bit of kit.

They are good and I have used mine with all my shotguns - showed a major flaw with one of my cheap rough guns.

One bore is off a little to the right and the other bore off slightly to the left in comparrison to where the bead points !

Ah well that one is for the skip I guess.

What method do you use to prove the lazer is truly central, some fit in the front end and others the breech end

I was thinking to use the breech end one but with a caop on the barrel with a central hole to prove it's true to point of aim

The type I have looks like a cartridge / snap cap.

You put it in either bore and close the gun then mount and see where it's pointing.

To check the laser for true -

Place it in either bore and with the gun broken, clamp it or place it on a table and aim the laser at a fixed point on a wall.

Then simply rotate the laser housing within the bore and check that the laser dot on the wall does not move.

If it does drift then the laser is not centred and you have bought a **** el cheapo one.

Mine is a Firefield one from the states via eBay for about £25.

Bought the Better one, its like a Dart flight and stem:

Cracking bit of kit, the ones that go in the bore are too far away from the end of the barrel and will not centre properly:

it has dart like flights at the back so it grips the bore, and the taper at the front locks on the front of the choke:

Now you can really set your gun to aim where you look, no head dropping ,cheek busting, keep your head straight and bring the gun to where you are looking, it will show you where you are looking, there is no AIMING involved: you set up> DROP:> Cast: Mine is now perfect.

Any missing now is just me: not the gun: I would buy another tomorrow if I lost it: Practice is easy, you do not follow the laser, it just shows you where you are going wrong, after practice,,, Shut your eyes it should still be the same point of aim: Trust me ,, BRILLIANT:

oopps forgot to mention it does from .22 up to 12 gauge: Has different size flights at the back, Just change them:

Each to their own !

Your point about it being to far from the end of the barrel is interesting -

If the centre of the chamber is not central to the barrel then it won't matter what you use as you have a serious problem with the gun !

I have tried the one you have as a mate had one - decided to buy a Bushnell optical one for my scoped firearms and the laser dot cartridge type for my shotguns.

Not everything suits everyone so as I say - each to their own.

That is great advice, I was worried how true they would be but can see your logic with this check and so simple, lateral thinking proves the point

Many thanks
