i really wish that i could put better quality pics on that would do the pyrography justice.

thankyou for the nice comments fellas , she is pretty talented isnt she , the burning is done on a chopping board , but will be hung like a picture , she has done a few commissions ( mainly motorbikes for bike clubs) but its only the second dog that shes burned , the total time taken was around ten hours but the actual time burning was around eight hours , she already works from home now doing restoration work on high quality leather furniture and buying and restoring furniture , some of the things she does are real works of art , the leather work and wood burning are a hobby more than anything , but she would love to do it full time

Fantastic work. Is it a fixed power one or one you can adjust?

its a variable power janik model , its a pretty good piece of kit and relatively cheap.

ill post a couple of pics of the furniture later , she does some nice stuff.

I wondered why it was" Black over Bill's mother's" it must have been her

A talented woman. She'll have to do some more and try a craft outlet.

hopefully she will be setting up her own website soon , the only problem with wood burnings is that its impossible to be competetive with prices when you compare it to laser burning/cutting wood , id much rather pay more and have something homemade but a lot of folks just want the cheapest option.

Your Missus does lovely work, Mel. I've been doing pyrography for years, and I know talent when I see it.

Lesley

thankyou , she loves the compliments lol , shes very artistic , she does lots of different arty type things and leatherwork but woodburning is her big love and she would love to do more of it and get better at it .

If she wants any help or would like to get in touch with other pyro-nuts there's an online Pyrography Forum where she would be more than welcome. I probably can't put a link here, but if she just Googles "pyrography forum" she should be able to find it. If not, PM me and I might be able to post it in a Private Message.

Set her up on eBay and start selling some of her stuff as she has a talent and that will go well on such a site. Ever thought of going to some craft events where she can sell and demo at the stall..... if not then think about it as the outlay is not that bad but the potential is very good.

Excellant work....... some of the best I have seen.

she said thankyou for the compliment , she already sells a lot of furniture on ebay but the burnings are mainly of motorbikes and are commisions , im guessing that the stall fees at craft fairs are pretty high ?.
