gazzthompson
BASC seem to do a lot of lobbying etc, so i joined them to support that as well as the insurance.
Footu
I went with CSA but only because it was half price!
Gunnerbob
Being a senior, (OAP) I went with Countryside Alliance as they had an offer for us coffin-dodgers, £16 membership including insurance

berretta77
Thanks Guys for all your input i have done some research which i always do before any purchase, just interested to see what other peoples opinion was on the matter and what was the best value for money. I never mind paying more money for anything if you get a better product or in this case better cover and representation Thanks again guys for your replys Happy Shooting
David BASC
Like all things pay your money and make your choice, shooting claims are rare, but never the less its daft to shoot without insurance. Some membership insurance packages will not pay out if you have home insurance or they have an excess you have to pay – check it out. But as has been said it’s more than just insurance. What about keeping shooting safe? There are, on average, about 50 political consultations that could impact on shooting that come out each year There is work to do to keep balanced comment on shooting in the media There is work to do to deliver on improving firearms legislation But at the end of the day as I say it’s your money so choose which organisation suits you best. Personally I will stick with BASC because I am a shooter, the Angling Trust because I am a fisherman, and the CA / GWCT because I support the broader countrywide agenda. JAK Frost
After reading many posts on this forum, i have chosen to go with BASC - Looks like a preferred company and more recognised when looking for permission (My opinion)
berretta77
Hi JAK I think i have come to the same conclusion as you mate, as i am looking to get some payed pigeon shooting most have specified BASC insurance And as you said it does seem to be the preferred company Thanks for your opinion
hawkfanz
get basc never mind the cheapest they,re the ones that look out for us shooters, they lobby the gov,on our behalf when ever new rules are brought up.
Fisheruk
I'll put a spanner in the works. NGO. Much cheaper. Nice people to deal with. It's the one for me.
castletyne
BASC have the biggest voice so the more who join the more power they have to defend us To be honest what they charge for the year is pennies when you think about it
Fisheruk
That's hype and spin for you!! NGO mag is much more practical than BASC. Their firearms advisor George Wallace is very helpful and effective. IMO.

I'm not interested in the Mags I joined BASC cause they always seem to be at the forefront on any debate involving shooting I think one big voice is stronger than several little
berretta77
Hi guys thanks for you input I guess with insurance im looking to get the best cover for the price but having said that i dont mind paying slightly more for an organisation that looks after us shooters rather than just insure us to shoot. Also as i said above some people/permissions seem to specify BASC insurance for some reason (representation i assume) so obviously restricts where i could shoot Thanks again guys
