undes596
Hi all! I have been offered a browning 425 grade 5 sporter with 28" multi choke barrels. This will be my first gun and have been told different things by different people such as, buy a not so good gun first off so it dosent matter if you damage it, and at the other end buy the best you can afford in the highest grade! I had my nose hung over a 325 g5 while waiting to get my licence but that sold unfortunatly. So i guess im very lucky in this one coming along! Is there much difference between 325 & 425? What sort of money should i expect to get it for as it is an exceptionally beautiful gun with dark deep figured wood! Thanks guys! Hope to hear back soon! Gordon R
The 425 has chrome lined barrels, whereas the 325 does not. Private sale - £1500 tops - assuming it is a minter. If you are unsure about assessing the mechanical condition of the gun, take someone who knows his / her stuff.
rimmie
I had one of these, a 28" sporter. Fantastic gun, beautiful engraving and stunning wood. I paid £1500 for mine and had the stock re-done by straightshooter. If you look through the thread there's pictures on there. GO FOR IT !!!!!!! wj939
Take it! Sounds a bargain. For a grand your looking at the same spec gun but in grade 1. So your getting the right end of the deal.
