HDAV
Just buy a 26" MC barrel! Cutting it there may well not be enough meat left to thread and you'll spend more than a new barrel for a gun worth less Edited February 19, 2013 by HDAV
paul1989
Does the barrel not have the same wall thickness over its full length?
JimLondon
What the make is the gun, my escort had 30" barrel so I bought the 26" barrel and its like a new gun
HDAV
Does the barrel not have the same wall thickness over its full length? barrels that are factory MC often flare out at the choke end to accommodate the threading and most barrels are choked so have thicker internal wall at the muzzle where the thread gets cut, you talking of retro multi-choking a true cylinder barrel if you cut 2-3" off depends on the factory wall thickness and minimum (will need reproofing) Cheapest tegue option is £190 + vat for retro multi choking with 3 chokes... a factory barrel is probably about the same... Bleeh
If shorted too much this could have implications to it's ability to cycle cleanly. So, buy a new barrel.
