TaxiDriver
Rabbit and pigeon and he wants/is paying £290 to provide a service to a landowner, how many people will he allow/charge that to? **** ***! No different to all the other people who offer paid pigeon shooting/ deer stalking etc etc So many people have nowhere to shoot, those that can afford to will pay, And some might tie up as much land as they can in order to tap into this market. Simply put..... It's 'Supply & Demand'

Simply put..... It's 'Supply & Demand' I understand the argument but it is Flawed big time! So those with money to burn get to shoot and those without Don't! How does that help the majority of shooters then! Frankly, I think ANYONE who actually pays to shoot rabbit or Pigeon is doing shooters a LOT of harm and should be discouraged/vilified to the max! I don't think the argument is flawed as such, And I whole heartedly agree, "Those with money to burn get to Shoot, and those without,Don't" which doesn't help the majority or shooters(myself included) But realistically Shooting does seem to be a popular and fairly expensive sport/hobby and some people will see the opportunity to make a buck. Dannyboy220
Permission is hard to come by I have a few now, after much door knocking and knock backs. . A couple at around 12 acres for air rifles and I pay for a 300acre one for the shotgun. My big problem is with those who take up huge areas of land. They boast that they have 20000 acres to shoot on, here and there. How often can you get round all of those effectively. There are certainly some greedy people out there. RED BEARD
theres nothing wrong with charging people to shoot on land,if they can't afford it they can't do it.theres lots things i'd like to do but can't afford it,but i don't think i should have the right to do them anyway. Elk hunter
Permission is hard to come by I have a few now, after much door knocking and knock backs. . They boast that they have 20000 acres to shoot on, here and there. How often can you get round all of those effectively. There are certainly some greedy people out there. Why is it on theses forums you have to be so careful on how much or how little land you have in case someone takes a pop at you. My shoot over 2800 plus acres. Now 1200 I pay a lease on in the boarders the rest belongs to my family and two guys I do work for. But my father has no wish for anyone else with a rifle or shot gun on the farm that I or my brother does not know. The other farms are different one only let's me shoot with a rifle and the other they have to come through me before they can shoot. So it's not all about greed dannyboy. Sometimes the land owners likes what you do for his mate next door and approaches you not the other way round. Plus if I don't know you why should I let you shoot! It's unfortunate that we all can not have land but I do try to help in any way I can. You mention the guy with 2000 acres how can he maintain it, it is easy I have a small syndicate for my roe stalking just 4 of us. My families land, not aloud to shoot hares that problem solved, pigeons no one wishes to come and shoot them rabbits hardly any about and foxes myself and a friend. Both others are deer parks, so foxes, rabbits, hares and pigeons make no difference to me I shoot the deer. So sometimes one man can manage a large area no problem and for a few hundred pound how ever much land you get it's a slice of heaven for someone
Dannyboy220
It's not a pop friend. I envy you! It's my problem I was just voicing a defence to those of us that have to pay. Dan
