-Mongrel-
Recently bought a Theoben Sirroco, not because I wanted it, but it was really cheap! However, a chrono showed it underpowered. Sent it to a local 'smith to have new seals, a service and regas on the ram. Came back today. I said to my dealer "Best run it through the chrono, just to check.", " 'smiths already done it mate, look, he's listed it as now at 11.67". Slightly higher than ideal I thought but anyway, " Just run a couple through it Nick, just to be sure!". He capitulates and puts a pellet through it...which went with a helluva pop, and shattered all over the place as it hit the back stop... ..."14.87 and it sounded like it" was his first comment, a couple more through, both above 14ft/lb, "We'll send that back to be redone shall we" says he! Yes, might be wise!!! Edited March 1, 2013 by -Mongrel-
team tractor
Mine came back at 12.1 and I sent it back as its not worth it . I normally like 11.4 ish
-Mongrel-
My S510 runs at 11.5 and I'm happy with that in a regulated gun, but the break barrel I'd rather see at lower 11's.
FalconFN
I run mine at 11.3 to be safe but it's unregulated so I don't want to risk anything.
evo
mine runs at 11.6ftlb set by daystate tried allsorts through it and the max reading i have had is 11.8ftlb, but my mate put his in for a repair and it came back shooting 14+ ftlb, very naughty giving him the gun back in that condition Edited March 2, 2013 by evo
secretagentmole
Easy enough to tune down, take out of action, remove back cover, press valve in gas ram down a bit, reassemble, check power!
evo
Easy enough to tune down, take out of action, remove back cover, press valve in gas ram down a bit, reassemble, check power! thanks mole, he has de tuned it now mate but as said very naughty to give someone a gun back after repair that is breaking the law, certainly wont take any of mine there, could you just imagine the fiasco if he would of been caught with it doing that sort of power,,safe to say he was not happy

-Mongrel-
As said, it's easy enough to bring it down, but, I don't own a chrono (really should mind you!) and the 'smith's been paid to do it, it's not right, so he can bloody well sort it FOC. pabs
Rightly so Uh? The shop returned his gun over-powered? So you think the Police should prosecute him? You think the Police should not be understanding in this case? If a shop delivered you an over powered rifle and you didn't immediately realise, you'd be happy to be locked up and prosecuted and sent to prison? If a shop delivered you an over powered rifle and you didn't immediately realise, you'd be happy to be locked up and prosecuted and sent to prison? The law is simple, if you're in possession of a S.1 firearm without sufficient authority you are culpable....full stop. There is no excuse, its an 'absolute offence'. I wasn't being pedantic or argumentative, if you are in possession, blaming someone else won't wash. Read his Profile says it all. Shush, be quiet, my profile is not true, is a joke. chrisjpainter
Rightly so I'd probably have to agree with Kyska. It's nice when cops show a bit of common sense on some things, but when it comes to fire arms, I'd rather they were rigid. It's our responsibility to make sure our weapons are legal and ignorance is no defence. Good on Mongrel for insisting on getting it checked before leaving the shop! The vast majority of us are sensible shooters, who take care over the law and are prepared to ensure they stay within it, and maybe for us it'd be nice to have some understanding over an accidental overpowering, but I want the FEOs to crack the whip on the idiots who just don't care. All it means is I make darn sure my gun is legal, and that's no bad thing!
