What a day

Popped out shooting this afternoon in between the rain, and when i got to the track to drive down to one of my permissions there was a farmer on a quad rounding up sheep that had escaped,so i gave him a hand and got them back in the field.

Wondered around with the dog and there was nothing about, but noticed a sheep with a lamb up against a fence that didn't move as the dog went past, and on checking the ewe was dead,so i walked the mile to the farmhouse who i thought owned the field, but they didn't and the farmer on the quad did,so they called him and a couple of minutes later he turned up on his quad with lamb and sheep,he commented on how fast i had covered the land as he had seen me walk around.

Well the farmer on the quad offered me to shoot in his fields, i thought it was just two until he pointed across the road and there was another 7 fields and huge ones at that which connected up with land i already had the other side of the valley.

The other farmer then told me there were foxes and loads of rabbits in his fields and i could shoot them as well, this land connected up two other permissions i have,so now i can walk for miles through golf course, rough land, grazing land and ponds.

What a day,i have about 600 new acres to shoot on.And Wales blasted England at rugby, doesn't get better. :good:

Nice one mate, well done. This sort of thing goes to prove the old saying that I firmly believe in to be right - "What goes around comes around". (i.e. You do someone a good turn and eventually you will get a good turn returned to you! :good: :good: :good:

This sort of thing goes to prove the old saying that I firmly believe in to be right - "What goes around comes around".

Isn't that a fact! Can't get any brass for love or money. Picking up some bits in the RFD yesterday,

"Any brass?", half heartedly as I was pretty sure I knew the answer. "No - hang on though", disappeared and came back, "got some once fired you can have cheap."

Voice of another customer from behind me, " I gave you those as they're no use to me."

"Indeed you did, which is why I'm selling them cheap. Father wouldn't forgive me if I gave something away so I'm charging Phil £0.01."

150 Hornet cases swiftly changed hands.

Best get to spec savers and lay in a few spare pairs of glasses :whistling:

Congrats

Funnily enough it is all the land around that permission, the dead ewe was at the end of the track where i shot your rifle and took my specs off, then like an idiot forgot they were on the bonnet,so i now have all the land the otherside of the road and all the way down the dirt track to my permission.

I now have three pairs of specs,as i thought i lost a pair a while ago, found them on a post at the end of the garden a week later, took them off when strimming to clean them, old age is going to crucify me.

You down here this year?
