winchester energy
Anyone know of a cheap Silencer that would fit a SMK 19 break barrel?
Capital Bee
Did you want one that works well? I bought a backdraft silencer for mine, about £53 with the 1/2"UNF adaptor. Very quiet mod'. If you wanted a barrel weight, I think the webley pro-system will fit it and you can get them for £25'ish, they wouldn't reduce sound as much. In between you can look at the smk silencers... NIGHT SEARCHER
www.airgunpellet.co.uk They have a very good range.
imissalot
Is it worth it ,the spring is more of a problem I would have thought
Capital Bee
TBH I was originally of that opinion. However, as the shooter you'll hear the action, which leads you to believe the moderator is hardly making any contribution. Try listening from 5mtrs away, and it's a different story.. bruno22rf
I agree with imissalot, but lets be brutaly honest here.If you are going to start spending money on,what is a budget gun, would you not be better off putting the money away towards upgrading your rifle?Any money spent on this type of gun is lost when you come to sell it as buyers for these rifles tend to be looking for value-a mod might make it easier to sell but any financial gain is questionable.Theres hundreds of good guns out there and its a buyers market so ,if I were you,I would start planning to buy another gun. Capital Bee
Depends what you want really. I bought my xs19 2nd hand for small money. Had it tuned, fitted a mod and trigger mod for a grand total of £170. What would you recommend I buy for that money? TBH I've no intention of selling it as I enjoy shooting it. FalconFN
You could get a second hand HW80/77 for that. Saying that, they are one of the better Chinese rifles and you probably enjoy the tinkering so who cares what others may think. Have fun. Capital Bee
I have an HW35 that I recently rebuilt and it is a lovely gun to shoot, but the xs 19 is a different gun. Lighter and now tuned, very accurate to ranges I feel confident shooting at (as I hunt with it), they both have a place in my cabinet. So I'm not talking as a chinese air rifle anorak. If you see a tuned HW80 with a scope and moderator fitted for £170, let me know, I've still got a bit of space in the cabinet!
secretagentmole
I got a Sirocco with silencer for £161.30.... Beautiful gun those, has the Webley trigger on it, really crisp release, punches well accurate as heck!
Bleeh
This is what you want! http://www.jsramsbottom.com/products/silencer-adaptors/gtsa091-guntuff-12-unf-silencer-moderator-adaptor----smk--chineese-15mm.html Buy the adapter then any 1/2UNF moderators would fit! (Which is like 90% of all moderators), Give Wabbitbosher a PM and he should be able to sort you out with something for not much money (or wait for one to come on in the ''For sale'' section. Three things to consider. 1.) It will have a minimal effect on an break-barrel, but it will silence it a bit just don't expect great things like a PCP. 2.) Make sure your barrel is 15mm in diameter. I just had a word with a mate and he says that it's 15mm dead on his SMK19, but If it doesn't fit don't blame me. 3.) You will have to remove the front sight, so make sure you have a scope! bruno22rf
Well Capital Bee,lets have a quick, and I mean quick, scan of Guntrader to see what £170 would buy me.Theres a nice Mercury and several Airsporters to start but the one that jumps out for me would be the Annie 335-stupidly accurate and will still be shooting long after we have all gone.As a bonus none of these guns would need any tuning other than a spring and washer perhaps and no need to fettle the triggers. Capital Bee
Well Bruno, rather than getting into a contest to see who can piddle highest up the wall, I've owned airsporters ( albeit the mk6) and whilst I liked it (the trigger was nowhere near as good as what I have on the xs19 now), it didn't float my boat. So I've purchased a Mercury. How much is the spring and washer? Isn't this a first stage tune? To clarify, the xs19 cost £170 with rifle, the tune, new spring, trigger mod, silencer - i'm happy with what I've got. Maybe I think we'll agree to disagree
bruno22rf
Its quite ironic,Capital Bee,that you should suggest a piddling highest up the wall competition because in January I had a Uretheraplasty operation so I am well up for the battle-I can now put out fires at 10 paces. With a decent spring and O ring coming in at less than £30 (this is assuming that the gun even needs one) and a Mercury costing around the £100 mark (unless its the "S" of course) I would still go for any quality gun over anything that SMK had ever made.I agree that we agree to dissagree but I'm dead keen to come over and find a wall
Capital Bee
Well, I'd have to bow to your greater range on that one. ATB.
happyshooter
Hi CB ,nothing wrong with either the xs-19 or even better the xs-20 with a bit of work by will at woodfield gcp they become very practical and accurate guns, and i own most of the top made springers and use them ,so i used to be anti chinese airguns but now i own the xs-19 and xs-20 and the underleaver xs38 all in 22 cal, i know how capable these guns are alll tuned by welsh willy. so CB carry on your path get youself the xs20 its a very good gun, enjoy your xs-19 , atb brian
