Very debatable question how long does your battery last on your rotarys ie 7amh 4 hrs etc with dead birds , I no the weight of the bird makes a big difference and wind conditions but just add the size of battery what type of bird, foam. Dead etc and how long. Only curious as to different views as I am picking my rotary up tommorow and are wanting to no battery usages and what to expect in different conditions atb delburt0. :)

HI I can't get a link on but if you copy this into ebay it will save sorting through the hundreds that are on there -

High quality New DC 12V Portable 9800mAh Li-ion Super Rechargeable Battery Pack
I've charged / discharged them over forty times now and they still work perfectly - I always worry a bit about stuff from Mao's lot but I've never actualy had a problem touch wood.
Do be aware that they take longer to charge than lead acid - a full charge is about 16 hours.
Good luck

may give a couple of those a go, but worth bearing in mind for those who fancy doing it,do make sure you wire them in PARALLEL not in SERIES or you may have a bit of bother, and do make sure the batteries have the same characteristics, and the cable to the flapper or magnet can handle the amps.

Stupid question but is it just a case of cutting off the plug and splitting the cable to wire these lithium battery's? Thought I read somewhere on here that magnets wouldn't run on them? Or is that just big lamps??

  • 4 weeks later...

how long a battery will last depends on to many things.

what motor, dead bird, hyper flap, foam wing.

I have a home made , well 3 but dont use them. and i have a pinewood. the home made last 3 hours on a 7a battery where as the pinewood lasts all day and then some.

I like the idea of the 9800mah batteries though. are they the blue ones with the switch on the side. what magnet you using.

all the best

Phil.
