the pigeon man
Hi am new so thought I will post my first thread I have a Lincoln 28g O/U and I think it's brilliant for roost shooting What every 1 else's views on a 28g shotgun ? I have a browning 12g b375 also for the bigger birds but the Lincoln seems perfect for the pigeons Cheers
theshootist
On my last day's shooting this (last) season I shot with a gentlemen who used an italian 28 bore over and under (one of a pair with straight hand stocks). Boy did he shoot well with it. The 28 bore is supposed to pattern really well. I borrowed a Lincoln 28b to introduce my girlfriend to clay shooting. They are certainly very light to carry and a long way ahead of a .410 in effectiveness.
the pigeon man
My father In law said his grand dad used nothing else than his 28 bore at his game shoot and still take home more than people using 12 bores defiantly way ahead of the 4.
pontbeck
I've one I use on game. It's more than capable of bringing down the highest of birds, as long as you point it in the right direction, like all guns
markm
Use my cynergy 28 for everything. Best gauge all round, we've been brain washed into thinking that 12 is the best.
welshwarrior
I use my beretta 687 28 bore for all my walked up and most of my driven shooting. Great little guns.
figgy
I use a 28g on game and love shooting it , had some cracking birds with it, every time I go in the cabinet I get it out and shoulder it, comes up lovely and would shoot it more if not for the price of carts. Iirc Richard Brigham might have spelled it wrong the bearded guy anyway is using one for Pigeon shooting, Clay&Game developed a good cheap steel load for it, he wrote about it in one of the Shooting Mags. If clay grounds allowed steel I'd reload for it. Figgy
