evo
hi all i am a right handed shooter even tho i was and am left handed at most things, boxing, snooker, cricket etc, tonight i went to my perm just to have a wander as i have seen loads of rabbits lately, anyway i was sitting behind a fallen tree waiting for the rabbits to appear and all of a sudden a crow landed in the tree 30yrds away from me, my view to the crow was blocked by a branch so i moved to my left and i could see it clearly, i put my rifle into my left hand and aimed at the crow, pulled the trigger and guess what i missed i had waited 2 hours to miss the bloody thing, have any of you had any success using your rifle in the opposite hand and side i certainly wont be trying thet again lol

FalconFN
No, but I'm try to shoot shotguns left handed and it feels very odd. I have taken one or two left hand shots with rifles but it never ends well especially as I don't have an ambidextrous stock.

bruno22rf
I'm right handed and shot as normal till I lost my right eye about 10 years ago-switching to the left shoulder only took a couple of weeks to get used to before I could match my previous performance. Churchill
Which is your dominant eye? I'm right handed but i have absolute dominance in the left eye and I've been shooting left handed for over 30 years, It's never going to be good switching sides, if your using a scope then its fair to say that your eye probably wasn't looking straight down the centre. pegasus bridge
I developed a problem in my right eye in my teens after already getting used to shooting rifles right handed. I had to swap over to shooting left, it was a pain in the **** but a neccesity. My problem is with shotguns, I still shoot right handed, but I'm left eye dominant. I've tried a few shots left handed but am finding it very difficult to swap!

That's it with me, I'm fine shooting right handed with rifles as I can shut my 'better' left eye but with shotguns I need to shoot left handed and it feels all wrong. I'll get there in the end but I just need to retrain my brain and muscles.

demonwolf444
I started shooting right handed when I used iron sights, but I have a lazy right eye. When I realised this was holding me back I switched to my left eye and I shoot fine now. My right eye has deteriorated since and I cant hardly focus it through the scope. Perhaps a small difference in your eyesight between your left and right eye made a big difference? Im guessing you are right eye dominant and right handed. Whereas I am right handed naturally but left eye dominant, so I shoot left handed.
kiffy
im right handed but as my right eye is a lot wesker than my left (i wear glasses) i have always shot left handed, on the odd occasion when i hold a friends right handed guy i shoulder it just to get the feel and im so uncomfortable holding it, maybe uncomfortable isnt the right word but it just doesnt feel right to me... i couldnt dream of shooting wrong handed
chrisjpainter
I've tried it and it was the most uncomfortable position I've tried to shoot in! the r/h sporter stock on the Daystate Mk4 is all ridges and angles if shooting left handed, so I gave up in the end as i couldn't concentrate on the shot!
